Crack on Epi LP

Hi all!

I often come across adverts of epi lps that mention that they have cracks here n there.

Why is this so? Is the guit that heavy or just poorly built?

i dropped my les paul, and theres a crack on the outer skin of my les paul, revealing the wood inside.

My les paul which is 4 sale now, was in the case then i knocked the case down. then got crack. lol. ive since sold the case. SKB cases are much much better than the epiphone case

Aiyoh! In a case also can crack. This make me wary of getting an Epi. :?

A fucking stage crew member dropped my guitar from about a meter literally as the curtain was opening, its a really nasty crack, the finish is crack al around it and you can see a chunk of wood underneath...only reason he didnt get a broken nose was cause the damn curtain was opening and we had to start playing! :twisted: Oh well, battle wound I guess - makes it my guitar.

crack will eventually occur lah. unless ur super super duper careful or u dont play it at all. hehe. i got some small cracks because of MISHANDLING of others!

and a tip, dont just lend ur guitar to some n00b. dont trust him. sure got cracks and scratches one. they dunno how to take care :twisted: happened to me before.

In this case, it's not the Epi that's at fault, it's the mishandling. Don't be wary of getting one, just don't drop 'em. Buy an SKB case for it if you can afford one. Cheers.

yeah dont trust ur ax to juz any n00b..some of them cant even strum properly..always hit guitar..still ok if pickguard is on..if u've removed it the paint wud be scratched!

This is true.... sounds like it borders on being selfish but really, no one takes care of your stuff, better than yourself. Hard facts... don't learn it the hard way.

believe me the worse thing is when u see the n00b drop it and crack ur precious IN FRONT OF UR EYES. then they wont seem to care much just a lil sorry. and then me being someone who just cant shout at ppl, will just stare blankly, fake a smile and say "it's alright" but it isnt! damn it!

Well, if you go through the classified, you only see things like 'dings' for other guitars but epi lps tend to have cracks. That's why I'm a bit wary. :?

just be wary of cracks at the neck joint and behind the nut/headstock

Any other cracks on the body... don't bother lah... such a large chunk of wood.
