Count Your Blessings - In Response To Gashaus Slamming

!!

Hahah. Open mic ah. Some of the elders karaoke to live band. Hahah. Classic songs I used to hear from under my block when I was young. Don't know the titles though. Only know the melodies. Hahah.

for those going bitter about why you have to sell tickets, did you ever bother to ask him why?

"so that you wont play to an empty stage." will be the answer given by roy aka xtreme boy.

for Music Mania, take note, after 10 tickets, u get $2 for every ticket you sold. hell, i think thats quite ok.

i played at gashaus for a few times under different organizers
.
the first time i played there, we were stalled there for 10 mins because the keyboard amp didn't work, then when it finally worked, the mics didnt work. and we played without the mic.

the bad experience didnt hinder us from playing there again. and by deciding to give it another shot, i think everyone was satisfied.

keep trying!

I love the people (Mark, Keith, Luke, Roy) and the atmosphere at Gashaus, and I think they deserve serious respect for what they are trying to do for our music scene. I'd play there for them any time.

I don't even see anything wrong with the video projection. Come on, if you can't get people in the audience to look at your band instead of a fuzzy projection on the wall...

If you don't like Gashaus, don't go there, don't play there. Find somewhere else in your dreamland that will give you perfect sound, pay you loads for playing, give you free, quality equipment, etc etc.

There are other bands that would love to take your place playing on the so called poor sound system, equipment and service, and nobody wants to sit around listening to people whine.

ha ha ha..you are funny man..loads of money?? they pay that is it??? by selling what they can fford to pay loads??? they themselves are teeling all their problems and there u come along and write bullshit....

Still kickin'

In case any one didn't know, the gashaus website is still going, as a music site http://www.gashaus.com. There's a lot of content from Singapore there from Think Magazine, and all the videos from youtube posted by the many cool bands that played there (damn our lighting sucked).

You can go for a trip down memory lane with the old flyers, videos, plus read and post about any bands or thoughts you might have (Sorry James, I'll only plug once!)

Also, if you guys ever come HK way, the music scene here rocks, and like Wayne says, the venues don't provide anything more than a PA and a mic! Rock on!

That's a bummer to hear, coz good music can cure depressions... unless you're Emo of course...

Where's everyone playing these days?

hmm I'm not too sure actually; but i think the whole hardcore/screamo thing is starting to phase out abit, slowly. electro-pop is getting abit old, too. i suspect we will see more traditional, groovy rock&roll in time
