Converting back to acoustic from electric

Hey guys, I'm seriously considering selling all my electric guitar equipments (guitar, amp, effects) to fund a Taylor acoustic guitar. Sounds like a great risk doesn't it? I just feel more fun when I play the acoustic, like its subtle touch and intimacy. I don't quite know how to explain. An electric guitar is definitely fun too and rocks but ya know, probably matured a bit haha. So yea, any opinions from you guys??? My electric guitar instruments are pretty decent. But its a very tough decision.

I am in the midst of converting to a single (or maybe two) acoustic setup. Taste change.

But until you are very sure that it is what you want, don't sell all your electric gear.

nothing to being matured and not playing the electric.. lots of people prob more than twice your age still rocking out on the electric, ya know? haha. anyway, my opinion would be just keep your electric, because perhaps after a while of playing the acoustic, you might start to miss playing the electric and have to sell your acoustic to buy a new electric..

I know EXACTLY how you feel.
Being a hardcore screamo fan and huge Schecter fan, I still can't believe that I left my Schecter in it's case for 2 weeks. Been playing the acoustic all these while.
I still can't believe it.

SOMETIMES, I do feel like selling all my amps and electric guitars away but no way. Just no way.

So I'll just wait for the day I got sick of acoustic and start playing the electric again. :D

Make sure you have really think through, that whether you should sell ur stuff or not. You might regret one day. "why did i sell my stuff, stupid" some people say this a few year later.

I almost considered selling off all my electric guitar gear, too, but my reason for playing both acoustic and electric is because I like a wide range of genres and e.g. folk, I usually use acoustic and metal I can only use electric. So if you ask me, if you can play both acoustic and electric proficiently, you can really play a very wide range of musical genres.

Furthermore, the electric guitar is very versatile. You can use it for stuff ranging even from folk and country all the way to brutal death metal and all that extreme stuff. My advise is to keep playing electric as well, it would really help to make you a versatile guitarist. Unless of course you're one of the many who plays a specific genre; then by all means stick to the 'type' of guitar that does the job.

Depends on what music genres you want to play...

thanks for the replies, rather interesting perspectives and all
yea man, i do like the rocking on the electric, awesome fun, with the effects and all. its amazing how one instrument can do so much. But yea, a "once-and-for-all" kind of acoustic guitar wont come cheap man
i'm weighing my pros and cons right now
seriously hope i win toto or 4d since im legal now
haha
