did you buy it? i may want to get one in the very near future

yeah i got clips of it. I got it from a review from "Guitarist Magazine"

Well i actually searched for it in Ebay since noone sells it here
And it totals to almost 250 usd plus shipping. Worst still, ppl on ebay doesnt like to do business with singaporeans.

When i ask they say fraud is very common from singaporeans. told him to go xxx himself with a tenfoot pole. what kinda nonsense. he only have to ship after recieving payment anyway.
So i'[m jsut waiting for other sellers to open up

and since i dont even have ANY amp yet. I'm putting it on hold.
K gimme a moment i'll rip the jucicy clips

If fraud is common from singaporeans, then those morons are blind. Who is the one who invented the internet scam??? They are the ones posing as Singaporeans to cheat their own countryman. It takes a thieve to know a thieve.

Sorry, back to the topic. Classics are always classics. Current models will only incorporate at most one or two features of classics, because they are not suitable for the general genre of music today.

For example, the twin reverb. You won't really find a metal nut using that. Or most of modern rock, because the gain on that amp is not suitable to be driven that hard.

But companys do reissues, mainly because there is still a demand for it. If not, you will only find such features in boutique or custom amp.

So people using and owning classic models have that acquired taste for that particular sound or tone.

hey mike thats what i really dont understand man, from Mics to pedals and other gears. lots of ppl just refuse to trade overseas to singapre. i dont understand the mistrust.

heh. when some foreigners think singapore is part of china... what to do... :?

hope the misconception of Singapore "being as run down as other parts of Asia" or "Part of China" gradually reduces.

the mistrust is due to all the credit card fraud came from country around our region. And i believe some of the foreigner see our country as a whole region(s.e asia) instead of country.

But to be fair, there are also a lot who will do biz with us too. Its only a matter of who and where to find those.

yeah! i agree. ya know i mean this is about the only time i thank the gov that we study geog. hahahah ROFL

man those foreigners are so damn ignorant.
but then again... cant be help...

i think on our side if you ask a dude whats the capital of Autrailia he'd probably say Sydney instead of Canberra

At least it's not as bad as Indonesia. Most of the foreigners (or rather, Americans) specifically don't want to deal or ship there.

Personally, I haven't really encountered much of such 'we don't ship to Singapore' type of cases (okay, not that I've ordered loads of stuff overseas), but most of the sellers of items I'm looking for do ship over here. Most of the time, I'd ask even if they mention they don't ship international...they might change their minds at times

Timex,

There are a lot of small boutique builders out there (naturally, many are in the States) that do recreate clones of classic amps from the product line of Fender, Vox and Marshall.

Whilst some of these boutique builders focus solely on a certain line i.e. Tweed amps, most offer a product range that clones (and further improves on) a variety of classic amps.

I'm unsure when u say "clone" do u mean actually copying the original's circuitry or "clone" as in to be voiced similar to the original amp.

Some of the boutique builders that come to mind (for either category) are:

- Bat Cat (if u consider Matchless as a classic amp)
- Carr
- Dr Z
- Germino
- Kingsley
- Tophat
- Toneking
- THD
- Komet / Trainwreck (if u consider Dumble as a classic amp)
- Two Rock
- Victoria

Wow my first thread and so much response. Thanks alot everyone.

Back to business. I recently spoke to an expat friend about this topic and he commented that the locals did not appreciate hand wire classic amps like the old marshall 18W. I have checked out the prices on these kits and found them to be very reasonable (plexi 100W fully built at approx $1200). Marshall and Fenders are always coming up with reissues but they are always so expensive. The clones that i am speaking about incorporate the same exact circuitry as the amps of yesteryear. I have always felt that Marhalls and Fenders were too expensive and there must be a way to get the same great tone at a lesser price. Clones are everywhere except that we may not know it. Early Marshalls were copied off the Fender Bassman designs.

as for the earlier discussions on pedals, they are most welcomed in this thread. Infact I managed to contruct an extinct Electro Harmonix Screaming Bird.

Go on keep the posts coming

Well it could also be because they do not make as much money as the shipping is expensive.

i feel that there should be mutual trust if a business transaction is to take place. A friend of mine wanted to sell his JS to Britain but the customer wanted him to use a untrustworthy bank. told him to use paypal instead.
