i also had a good experience with city music.
i recently bought a vox tonelabs LE and line6 spider III 15-watt amp. but before getting one, i called them to check if what i wanted was available and if its still on sale. i was told that it was and i was told to look for ritz and that the item would be reserved for me when i get there.
i went there a couple of hours later and looked for ritz and as told, the items i needed were there and he had me test the products on a demo unit and the actual unit that i would be buying as well. he also assisted me with some item like the cables and strings i would need for the guitar (i told him to get me the cheapest and he did).
only downside though was the packaging. the line6 amp's box didn't come with anything to grip on and the and the handle on the box of the vox tonelab LE pedal board broke as me and a friend of mine were on our way home. but over all, the experience is quite pleasant and most of all, they dont lie to you like some other stores.
come payday, im hoping to purchase the bass amp and bass guitar package that they have on sale. i hope its still on sale by the end of the month and im hoping the IT show at the end of the month wont drain all my money so i can purchase the package.
