chorus in the efx loop, straight to amp, also doesnt matter, when you can try it out both way and listen to choose which way you like, that is the right way, aka, your way.
most of the chorus pedals mentioned are pretty popular and lotsa people using it. Now is the time to spend money, buy, try thru setup, in bedroom, if gigging situation, even better.
If it make it, the pedal stay, if it dont, the pedal go and the search goes on. Trial and error, buying and trying, selling and buying again
