Checkout this kid.....

Mike Portnoy is sweating now... He knows there are more than just 1 of this kind in the world :).

RESPECT.

he's really good. could it be computer modified? i mean like increase his speed....so in reality he;s nt that fast?

we see the talent. my mother would have said...play so good because neber study one! if you study as well as you play drum, ah, can become lor kun u noe! go and study! everyday play drum! for wat??

I've seen this before on the Pearl Drummers Forums. And he has a second video up too (you can dig it up from the Pearl Forums). Yes, I think he's amazing for his age. And by the way, he is 16 according to his father who posted that up (I know what you're thinking).

Despite how miserable he looks swinging the two wooden rods around, I'm sure he loves drumming.

Haha.

And I've seen people nitpicking and criticising his playing, but all I can say is that he has the talent and he isn't afraid to show it.

his chops are just that few, but the speed of his strokes is remarkable.

if he worked on how he looks when he plays that would help him get tons of babes LOL

but -cries- i wana learn the crosssticking thingy he did.

Is he really THAT good? Tony Royster Jr. still owns the hell out of him... at an even younger age, no less...

It's just speed, speed, speed... sure he's good for his age... but drummers shouldn't be impressed by this sort of playing...

Anyone can play fast, but who can give me that pocket?

Btw, I have a more recent video of him playing. He's 16 now. Improved quite a bit. Still doing the same old "play as many single strokes without rhythmic form" fills, but at least he (somewhat) did a rosanna shuffle.

Hey Wired
I sure hope he has the heart man... I hope he doesnt burn out. But man he plays some freakin tasty grooves man. He sings the drums when he plays, hence the miserable face. hahhhaha

And I wished his father ( I assume ) that taught him, let him put on some ear protectors, the way Tony Royster did. Could see him holding his ears at the end boy.

Hic!
Darren

i agree that Tony Roysten Jr is better.

still...

The stuff he is able to do, though arguably "simple", is something i have not been able to do. I think every drummer that can do what i can't deserves my admiration. :p
