relax ar people. whether may day is rock band or not, i dont know cause im not chinese. but it disgust me when they call busted a punkrock band comparable to blink182. hahaha.
i wish channel 5 got some kind of a rock band competition which truly shows the power of singapore rock music (not sylvester shit). too bad i doubt its not going to happen but i'll keep my fingers crossed that soon something like this can happen.

okie. as an official fan of may day, i should clear the doubts for u all. May day is a alternative rock band. u might not think that they are purely rock..true..but they does have some rock hits. They also do love songs and other variety of songs.

They may not be classified under ROCK band like wubai and chinablue,beyond or in any case eng bands such as gnr,foo fighters,nirvana,....the list goes on.
But i strongly disagree bout the BOYBAND part. Which boyband writes and arrange all their original compositions? Which boyband puts up a concert performance that often?and with them playing instruments LIVE? Which boyband looks that ordinary like any other ppl? which boyband lasted for more than 10 years together as a band? which boyband plays music to crowds of tens of thousands all over asia?

My guess is, for the program...even if there are true blue rock/metal bands. We might not see them for long in the comp, these shows are all about viewership....the biggest portion of the pie are the aunties and general masses, "loud" music won't be readily assessed and accepted if u ask me.
Sad but true, we have to accept this fact. At most there will be a debatable "rock" band in there to give that underdog/rebel kinda feeling.
BrainFailure, i hope you're more consistent and objective in your views. The last thing we need is an obstinate music purist, that is my personal opinion.

i just suggest ppl go listen to the real Chinese Rock.....
i've got too used to the real Chinese rock...which i respect and support forever.i grow up listenning to occident music mostly but Chinese rock may be the only music in Chinese i listen to.
BrainFailure,MiserableFaith,Twisted Machine,Xie Tian Xiao&cold-blooded animal,Tomhawk,Second-handed Roses,SUBS,Reflector,and many more....
all the names i list above are the real big shots in Chinese Rock World today.
i posted a thread about the stuff,but not many ppl care about it....however i will still carry on that thread anyways.

Many of the songs of Shin, they don't write themselves. Then always pose beside motorbike hee hee... But the lead vocal is damm good, strong voice. I like Mayday better, but recently their albums not so nice already. Influenced by beatles. They're pop-rock la, still rock lor.
