Everytime I turn on my Yamaha EX5 synthesizer, it says "Change internal battery" on the LCD display... What does it mean? and How should I go about solving it?

It means exactly what it says - that the internal battery is running dry and need replacement. The internal battery make sure your edited patches gets stored in the memory.

Bring it to Yamaha to get it replaced. Call them.

But isn't it kind of premature for the internal battery to run out this quick? Its only the most a 10 yr old synth

Same thing really. Both have the same circuit boards. Unscrew the cover, find the battery and swap it over.

Or you can pay someone to do it for you....which is pretty lame since its such a simple task. ..but it's your money.

Hey! Thks! I got it done alr! Was pretty simple... Now the issue is that I ain't got the factory disks... so the factory sounds are all gone =(((
