To all drum gurus,

Drum newbie here.

I was wondering if I can do the above? For eg an Alessi drum module with roland cymbals, Yamaha toms and Traps snare.

Is that possible?

Secondly, can we buy components in parts in Singapore? Or internationally?

Cheers,

THG

I think you should go download the manuals for the triggers and brains(modules) from different manufacturers if you decide to customize a kit.

Pads range from

- Single zone
- Double zone
- Triple zone

Some brains support only Single/Double zone trigger pads so buying a 3x zone pad doesn't make sense.

Brands like RET Percussion / Hart electronics have excellent pads.

The big players here are Roland and Yamaha but Alesis, Traps have decent entry level kits as well.

Best place for a bargain is still Ebay.. remember to check shipping prices/taxes and "positive feedback" if you find something REAL CHEAP.

Bro,

You are spot on with regards to the single/dual/tripple triggers. I have a basic entry level Roland TD-6V brain. And a couple of pads. Surprisingly it sounds awesome though never like the real thing. But with space, budget and community constraints, the e drum is the only way to go. Will definitely look around. Thanks.

All you'll need now is a PC/Mac, Superior Drummer/BFD, MIDI2USB and a set of closed Cans to feel "The real thang" - Awesome!

Best.
