im a leftie!

i write with my left hand

i play sports with my left hand ( fencing/badminton/tennis/etc.)

but i play a right handed guitar

and i kick a ball with my right leg (ok abit off topic but whatever)

i dont think theres a right and wrong. just follow the one your more comfortable with

im a leftie and i play leftie. My dad is a leftie but he play a righty. Depends how comfortable you are with the guitar. My opinion is that u stick to a righty. Easy to find guitars to buy. I have difficulty finding nice ones. :(

and lefty guitars arent ugly la. Just unique. LOL

im a right hander! but everyone starts off a little weird when picking right handed (or left handed) for the first time, so i guess just go with ur most comfy position!

plus, right handed guitars are cheaper, more easily available, and there are spare parts aplenty for rightys... and with playing the guitar it doesn't really matter how you play it, whether u pick, u lick, you finger-sync or what, as long as you produce great tone i don't think it matters

no disrespect but taking a righty and flipping it the other way round is cool only if you look and play like hendrix, otherwise invest in a lefty guitar

a guitar is a guitar, regardless of whether it is electric or acoustic or classical or whatever. so when you switch from acoustic to electric, you are not starting from scratch. so just stick to whatever playing style you have spent countless hours practicing with.

no disrespect but taking a righty and flipping it the other way round is cool only if you look and play like hendrix, otherwise invest in a lefty guitar

well i wouldn't let something like a 'cool' factor prevent me from modifying a right handed guitar for left handed use if i really needed to. there is a far lesser selection of left handed guitars in the market, much less the SECOND HAND market.

im a leftie but i play on a right handed bass as well, if u give me play on a lefty bass, my fingers will become retarded

i am a left-handed guitar player. All along i have been playing a right-handed acoustic guitar, and i'm rather used to that already.

However, now i'm thinking of playing the electric guitar, but i don't know if i can go play well if i continue to use a right-handed guitar. So should i carry on using my right hand to strum and pick or should i re-learn guitar with my left hand, considering that playing the electric would require more intensive picking skill.
hey im also a left-handed plying right hand guitar!
haha..we are frm the same world.

there's no real disadvantage i suppose because playing a musical instrument is not a natural thing all humans can do like writing.

if you r just learning the guitar, you will get used to playing it the way you are being taught. if you're taught left-handed, you could say that you play better. but actually, you can achieve the same skill playing right-handed if you practice just as hard..

writing can also be taught.. its just that when lefties were kids, their parents didn't want to interfere with their babies natural left-handedness. but i once had a teacher who was left-handed but could write with her right hand because her parents forced her to. heh.

i guess its just a matter of getting used to something you have been taught. just like using a scissors and zipping up your pants. these are all right-handed 'tools' but you're used to it already right?
