C tuning feels wierd!!

deftones did use a much lower tuning than korn did on some songs... there's one song from them called "bloody cape" played on a seven string and it's tuned down 2 1/2 step to G#

Whoa the strings must vibrate like xiao... Wonder how they're gonna do fast solos with that kinda tuning... But then and again Korn and Deftones got no solos so...

Hey guys I tried some Arch Enemy in C tuning on 9s and it seems to be harder to tune compared to standard tuning. The sound also changes alittle; sounds weaker i think. Is it due to the strings?

You're using 9s... obivously they'll become bloody loose, go get 11s if u wanna go to C

C with a "short" scale neck and thick strings won't get you very far in terms of dropped tuning. Your regular chugga will come out as hugga when it should be DHUGGA.

Get an actual baritone scale neck. 27" and above and use gauges from 13 onwards. Elixer baritone 13s sounds great and last well.

other than string gauges.would adjusting bridge height change the string tension?like higher height but strings at 10s?

yup, changing string height will change tension, but it is of small value which doesnt help much and affect the playing of your guitar. High action cause pain to fretting finger when you have to press it down more.

The tension is related to the scale length coz the string is lay out from the head stock area over to bridge saddle, by raising the bridge, you are just increasing one end, not across the whole length where the strings are. So its not going to help much.

well i nvr had any probs tho.maybe the 255 scale on my guitar and the action is just right for lower tunings.imo 255 scale would stretch the string more causing lesser of what you call "weird looseness".maybe 22 fret neck scale causes guitar to feel wierd on lower tunings.get really heavy string gauge.
