Buzzing sound...

Hi guys, need some advice here. Everything I switch to my single coil (HSH config.) on my Ibanez and Strat (SSS) there is always a buzzing or interference noice...gets pretty irritating... anyone here knows whats the cause and how to rectify it? Thanks a million...

i have the same problem with my guitar. type in the words "fret buzz" on yahoo or google and you might find your answer. or, better yet, have it serviced by a guitar technician.

It's called the 60 cycle hum. It happens on single coils.

So it hums for only 60 sec, then it stops?

dun think so. think it's a constant hum with a tick tick tick sound. Search on google for it. U will find lots of info about it. Thats y Hum+Buckers are created. to eliminate that hum.

60 cycle hum dude, not 60 second. try grounding your amp, or switching to noiseless single coils.

Or cut the volume from your guitar. That will lower the gain tho :S

Or getting your guitar properly shielded might help reducing the hum.

if you utilize single coil under lots of gain/ drive, this is normal- the reason humbuckers were invented. if you get excessively annoyed, then replace the single coil to a stacked/ noiseless version:
