Buzzing sound when turning angled cable

I just bought new cables. But when i plug them in, i turned around the angled head that was plugged in my bass around and they made loud buzzing noises like "PSSHHH DSSHH"
how do i solve this? is it something wrong with my jack. I also use effects bass chorus and bass attack is that also something to do with the noise?

thanks soft ppl. this is the most friendly forum site ever.

It could be your input jack.. To check, see if other cables cause the same problem..
At the same time, it could even be your new cables.. What cables did you buy?

hmm can try to troubleshoot by plugging in your stuff one by one. start with just the bass to amp. if there's the sound then most likely it's the jack (either on bass or amp) or cable. if there's no problem then it may be one of your gears.

ok i shan't assume anything.

1. make sure your amp is off before plugging in/out anything, whether it be from your bass or the amplifier itself.
2. why turn your jack in the first place? ;p leave it alone la. secure it by hooking it behind your strap.. if you know what i mean.
3. if you're playing without a strap, which many people do at home, make sure that ALL cables in your signal chain (effects) are secure.

good one there, TidesOfBlood! i do that all the time. had an occasion very long ago when i accidentally stepped on my own cable while playing, and the cable came out of the bass. embarrassing.

I fi dont turn it around its ok..but when i turn it around its noisy and annoying!
haha..i guess i just dont turn it, but if I use the non angled cable its a-ok though..thx guys

the output jack is probably dirty. Spray some contact cleaner in it, and that should do the job.

anyone know where to buy cheap contact cleaner? i checked one of the atas hardware stores in a mall in my area and it was 15 bucks a can
