Buzz!!

Hey guys!

I just got a Rally Gl-400 from SV today.. Set up by Mike! It sounded awesome over there with no problems at all. But when I brought it home, and started playing for awhile...

Dreaded buzz sounded out! It rang out on the top 3 strings quite abit when its fretted at the first to the third or forth fret! *initially i thought it was the fault of my capo. But I tried it with my fingers and it sounded out pretty loud as well.

I'm thinking of calling SV tomorrow to ask!

In the meantime, anyone would like to suggest what might have happened?
*I'm guessing the temperature at my place is warmer than the temperature at SV (air conditioned)... Could that have any effect on the wood.. or strings or..? I have no idea.

It would be a good idea to contact Mike about it, fret buzz is definitely something he can solve.

In my opinion, fret buzz is fine. If it is soft, and does not come through the amplifier, that is. But if it is really loud, and/or comes through the amplifier as well, then definitely need to do something about it.

Ah finally! I thought no one would reply..

Well I'm quite particular about the buzz cause I mostly do rhythm on my 15W amp.. And my amp's beside me. So I don't really have to turn it up loud. So when I strum.. there's the buzz there. When I do strum hard it gets very obvious.. Though it doesnt come through the amp. I hope you guys understand what I mean..

Anyways! Has anyone encountered this before? When you try it at the shop after the set up its fine and stuff.. But after I bring it home and play it after awhile.. The buzz starts to ring out. (I lean my guitar in the guitar bag against the wall with the strings facing the wall). Whereas in the shop its hanging on a hanger.

Ok I went back today to SV and Mike did some adjustments to the truss rod. And.. Its settled! Whoooooos. Plays just fine! So yeaps.. Thanks for the help guys! :)

Seriously SV's a really nice guitar shop to go to. Fantastic service. :)

I have to agree on the excellent service from SV. :p You will never feel awkward to ask for anything.

Indeed, SV is a very nice shop to go to. Great service and top-notch work. I haven't been there in some time but it is still my favourite shop.

Truss rod problems, expected with new guitars. You're lucky the guys at SV didn't decide to charge you 50 bucks for a 'set-up' as some would term it...

Yea I think its cause I just got it from them less than a week ago. So they didn't mind donig the set up for free. That's why I love the service there.

Though my action's a lil higher than my previous guitar cause I strum pretty hard so I'm told its gotta be a lil higher to not get the buzz. I'm thinking maybe if I practise hard enough I'll get it set up down to a lower level..
