buying a delay

Buying new Line 6 DL-4 is never worth it with the relatively low price of the Line 6 M9.

Nova Delay better than Nova Repeater in most cases, depends on which features you need.

Boss DD-20 is one of the easiest to use in my opinion. Easy to find, lasts forever, pretty good buffer.

TC Flashback has no tap tempo (only "audio tapping" which is strumming the tempo. Not so useful live)

Digitech Digidelay died on me and sounds the worst of the lot.

I prefer Repeater over Nova Delay. Mainly due to the variable modulation settings, though you lose the ability to have patches.

if you wait out for a month or so, you could also consider the line 6 m5. i predict it will be less than $300 before discount.

edit: might be a little ex for a delay, but lets say you get sick of the 19 delays, still can explore the other 100 plus white powdery stuff in there! most exotic are the eventide-grade smart harmony and the better-than-digitech whammy pitch glide (needs exp pedal though) =D

I just got the Flashback Delay last week! Awesome pedal.

Gonna get David to bring in the M5 for me!

J. custom, are you selling your Flashback for an M5? How much did Davis quote you?

Not Davis but David from Ebenex. I'm selling my Flashback to fund for a M9, more worthwhile for what I need now IMO.

I guess there's good and bad about the M5.

Bad: You can only use 1 effect at a time, a bit pointless to buy a multi fx and only be able to use one efx at a time
Good: It's a swiss army knife on your pedalboard, any other pedals that you don't have it can cover it for you, or effects that you will only use for a particular song.

In the end, it's you that decide how you want to make use of it:)

Exactly what I was thinking! How much did David quote you for the M5?

Haven't gotten a response yet, but anyways I talked to Dhalif and he said that the M5s are in already! Around 200+

another question, I have done searches on local music stores, and nova repeater is sold at ebenex. I thought the price was ok until I have bumped to Ebay, the prices there are half the price at ebenex (no pun intended). Is it good enough to buy at ebenex? if not, can you give any advice on where to buy, thanks :D

Hmm, have you factored in the shipping prices on eBay? Many times, a good deal on eBay gets soured by hefty shipping costs/time. :(

There are dormant Nova Repeaters and Delays lying around the Classifieds. At the same time I got mine I saw those selling at $220, $200 and even $170 for one case. Nova Delays can go as low as $240.

Something is up with the classifieds. Only some pedals hold their value (Eventide, Strymon, and those really boutique stuff). The rest plummet.

DD-20s have gone up in price in the short few years I've been hanging around here. I think Repeaters just don't have much of a reputation (whether good or bad)

sorry interrupt. but I read/heard about the M9 volume issues when used in conjunction with other analogues. Something about true vs DSP bypass which I don't quite understand. Any M9 users can attest to this?
