Building Guitar Cab

Anyone knows how much it'll cost for one of the shops to make a 1x12 cab? Speakers prolly gonna be Celestion, but havent decided on which one.

A range of prices will be good.

U mean make a custom enclosure for a cab? I don't think most guitar shops do that. I'm guessing 500-700+ depending on the specs of the cab.. Just a wild guess tho haha.

wow so ex? hahah was thinking of just a super duper basic one. Cos I have an Ibanez Valbee that was a modded ext speaker output. so might as well get a nice cab for it. It's cleans are surprisingly nice. Fenderish.

Yeah, thats just an estimate for a decent quality custom made cab. If you don't mind me suggesting, why don't you just get a regular 1x12 cab.. Most stores should have a decent cab at a lower price and if you don't like the speaker you can change it and sell the old one away. Just my opinion tho.

any recommendations on one? Just wanna get a cheap one first, also partially for the sake of getting the chassis if i wanna replace speaker.

I'm not too familiar with cabs man so I don't think my recommendations would be too good. You can go to SA (Jet city), woodworkz (Blackstar) or davis (Marshalls) to check out some cabs. They'll know better haha.

not so expensive at all,
a simple one ( without Driver) cost only $350 est. comes with tortex skin
i made one before

@dodgethis: They do, unfortonately they are not suitale for my use as the speaker impedance of thecabs they offer are 16omhs and the total speaker impedance of my amp that has an external speaker out is 8omhs.
@relinquish69:Randolf's stuff very ex leh, my budget is about 200 or less, preferably under 200. can be either 1x10 or 1x12.

A friend introduced me to Soundwave Multimedia's 1x10 Lopo cabs and they are loaded with Celestion Tube 10s, cheapest I can find so far at only 139 but I have read reviews that the Tube 10s are not very good?

Any help on this?

btw, your Valbee output, based on specs, is running 5W on 4ohm 6.5" internal spkr...

Yeah I know. But the external speaker cannot be more than two times the impedance of the internal speaker, in this case 4ohms. The amp should be able to handle a cab loaded with speakers than have an impedance of 8 ohms.

if ure willing to order online, try avatarspeakers.com

the reviews are amazing for the price. wanted one but short of the dough.

I checked there, but shipping is insane. Like almost $150. My friend has an old Ibanez Troubadour 25w acoustic amp lying around which does not work anymore, so I'm going to get it modded so that it can be used as a cab. Will probably take out the preamp also.

It has a 10" speaker but I was wondering whether it's possible to cut the speaker cavity so that it will fit a 12" speaker? I will have removed the preamp section on the front so there will be more space. If it's possible I plan to put a Celestion Greenback in there.
