Electronics can only take us this far, can this take us further? Your faith in DSP?

theres similar concept used in sound design/music production softwares for years if not wrong, but pedal format wise, i think they are one of the earlier one.

imho, the concept is good. But for most geetarer, heh, plug and play, tweak a bit will still be around for a long time.

perhaps tweaked in different ways, but it remind me of this, which came out earlier this year

looks really cool for people to try out pedals. but its kind of hefty on the wallet eh? but it looks really really wow.

This is where all the ToneCore pedals came from. Line6 is now making this open-source. IMO, Line6 is trying to establish this as a platform for the industry. For those who's into programming, if you are capable of coming up with some nice and crazy effects, you can even sell your own modules. For those who just wanna tweak and experiment, just upload your codes into the module, if you're unhappy with the sound, simply re-code and upload again. Quite a breakthru' i would say. Of course, all these are in the digital realm, nothing analog here.

line 6 wasnt the first to go modelling way,but for physical pedal wise, they have move on and came out with more stuff

just about 7, 8 years back, when talking bout modelling stuff in pedal format, there were roland, johnson, line 6 and yamaha, the few more popular ones.

guess line 6 move on and beyond.

For software side, native instrument guitar rig, wave gtr. Those also really decent and offer as much as line 6, if not more.
