Bugis Aunty

I remember once I was outside Starbucks at Sengkang with my mum then out of nowhere this middle aged guy came up to me holding onto a small paper hoping that I would take the it and was doing some kind of a praying action with the number two sign. I guess he is not quite alright cause he couldn't say a thing and I think he is trying to beg for some money. He stood there for at least 5mins. After that he went to other people who were sitting down, some even scolded him and threw his paper onto the floor. So poor thing but he really scared me. Awhile later he went into Starbucks and started begging for money. That whole experience really made me feel super uneasy. I hope I don't see that guy again.

When i was in sec sch, i will often see this old lady who will wear a plastic bag on her head and talks to herself around my sch. She is always doing the same thing everytime i see her. (plastic bag on head, holding umbrella, talking to herself).

all around singapore i see such people all the time. even when i went to shanghai for 4 days, i met two such people on the streets.

i choose not to remember such incidents. no point wasting energy and time if we're not planning to help them yet.

LOL. Some old classmates of mine like to make a mockery out of the bugger :P
Sometimes just walk past him in a line and give him the finger, sometimes sit with him at KFC and act gay as well, and sometimes treat him like a hobo and throw spare change at him (like 10 or 20 cents) lol

Wahaha yeah KFC is his new hangout!!!

You meant MAKCIK KEROPOK!?

Oh. The aunty who sell crackers...
You mean MAKCIK KEROPOK!!!
When she come knocking your door, and you open your door, she will put a some sort of SATAN in your house.
Everytime the MAKCIK KEROPOK comes to your house again, you will buy from the MAKCIK KEROPOK AGAIN.
You know why?
The SATAN that the MAKCIK KEROPOK put in your house, makes you to forget her and make you want to buy her KEROPOK(crackers) EVERYTIME.

I think is just an Internet Rumour.
I think now no more stories of the MAKCIK KEROPOK!!

EDIT:
AND THE KEROPOK(crackers) is already..EXPIRED!

i don't wish to spoil y'all fun or what, but you do know that some of these "weird" people you mentioned actually require medical attention right?

i think it's not wrong if you feel uneasy around them/scared of them...but imo, you should try not to think of mental illness that way.

mental ILLNESS is not called ILLNESS for no reason...

it's like flu, you sick, your body does weird things like green goo runs down your nose, then you see a doctor and receive treatment. sometimes you get better, sometimes you don't, sometimes you never recover. it's just that mental illnesses are harder to discuss because people know less about them. not like AIDS, cancer, H1N1, you all know what's that; but mental illness? not really sure. (im not saying it's anybody's fault, i'm just stating facts >.<) actually, a significant handful of people who are mentally ill don't have violent tendencies. unfortunately, those who do receive a lot of attention and media coverage when they screw up, and peaceful patients don't. so people all think crazy = will go around physically hurting people, but actually...it's not very fair imo to stereotype them like that.

basically, if you want to add on to the, can i say social stigma? well, it's your mouth & your brain, i can't stop you, but you guys do know you're not helping these people to recover right? ._.
and, guy who said woodbridge hospital is meant to lock patients up,
hospital: a place where sick people go to so they can receive medical care in attempt to recover from their illness(es).
hospitals are not places where you treat humans like animals gone berserk and lock them up.

well i'm just saying, cos certain (not all) posts in this thread are like, shockingly extreme ._.
don't forget, the mentally ill have feelings too ._.

I rmb once I was walking across Hereen towards Dhoby Ghaut. I got attacked by this old man. He was grumbling and started hitting me with his plastic bag. At first, I thought it was by accident, so I ignore till I got hit by him for a couple of times. It was scary shit man. :(

I think I saw the dress wearing uncle back at Bishan J8 ages ago.

Oh there's this uncle who wears a querky hat and sings? I think he is really cute eh.
