Budget $600...wats a good amp to get ?

Can i get a good marshall combo with dat price?
Dun mind whether its tube or solidstate .

I'm looking at playing in a jamming room setting ..are those amps loud enuff when u hv drums and bass in ?
Prefrebly a 60W..yeah I've tried the Ibanez Tone blaster series..impressive!!
Peavey Classic 30...I dun think we can get those anymore, rite?

if you have drums in the line-up, you need a 100watter to be effective/ not drowned out.

i'm not too keen with the previous Toneblasters, the current TBX is superb. if you are keen, the TBX 150H is a sub-$700 unit (list), it's a great head to own tone-wise (tube purists need not bother):

the down-side is that you need more funds for a speaker cab...

add a little less than a hundred and get a fender pro junior from sweelee.. ..i think 15 watts is enough inside a room..although the bottom end may suffer a bit considering it only has a 10 inch speaker..

the marshall avt20 sounds good for its price, around 460 at davis..takes pedals well, the clean channel is ok but dont expect it to be great..

vintage 16 is out of stock right now, i asked the lady how much is the price when the next shipment comes in.

apparently, there would be around 10 percent increase from 911 to 998. less the usual 10 percent discount = 900.

this was my first choice when shopping for a small practice tube amp last weekend, but unfortunately, the lone stock i've been seeing in there since 2005 has been bought..so had to settle for something else..

I'm impressed by the Marshall Zakk Wylde Microstack at Ebenex recently, do check it out.

The distortion is really impressive for such a affordable amp combo.

I have tried using the Krank Distortus Maximus pedal over the clean channel but it sounded so tinny winnie as compared to the amp distortion.

For price, please check with Ebenex or the local distributor.

Phanto, thanks for the offer, unfortunately, already got a pro junior that same day. If only there was an ad earier for the vintage 16, would have jumped on it immediately..thanks though..

to the thread starter, give the vintage 16 a try..you can switch between 16 watts and more importantly 5 watts for late night playing..

Carvin Vintage 16...isit loud enuff for jamming ? Rite now I got my eye on an old Roland ST50R...made in Italy by Roland Europe(12 inch Celection). Currently owned by Rusty Blade's guitarist.. saw him using it during his Guitarworkshop.

The sound is amazing for a solidstate. Abt 50Ws.

Trying to give him a call whether he's selling it.

The line6 spider modelling amps, IMHO, are cheap, and very good value for money.

Of course, the tone purists will flame me for it being 'digital' and 'fake sounding' and stuff, but to the average listener, there is not much difference.

I would not carry it to a gig, for digital modelling tends to thin out at higher volumes, but it makes for a more than valuable jam/practice amp.
