Boutique pedals in Japan (Tokyo)?

A friend of mine is going to Tokyo soon. Asked if I want anything.

Do you know any nice overdrives, octavers, fuzz or compressors or just effects in general that work well for bass (i.e. very little low-end loss)? And where to get them from?

go to the ishibashi u-box and look at their listings. the store is stated. it is not possible to read a japanese store name without knowing japanese, even though its basically chinese characters. but in the link url it should be written in english. then direct your friend to the particular outlet and pick it up. u can get some really good deals on 2nd hand stuff there.

the musician's mecca in tokyo is a place called ochanomizu. JR ochanomizu station, there are 2 exits. i forgot which one, go figure it out. then turn left and follow the road.

however, most stores are crap. the only one that really matters is the ishibashi chain, which has stores all over tokyo. the last time i was there the only other one of note was music vox in akihabara. they own most of the dealerships so those are pretty much the go-to places in tokyo.
