Boss vol pedals?

Just another noob questions. What is the diff between all the Boss vol pedals, especially the FV-500 series and the FV-50 series... aren't they suppose to perform the same function which is to allow the guitarist using it to control the volume of the guitar w/o having to roll the vol knob of the guitar?

And what's the diff between the H and L versions?

H is for high impedance.. for use after some effects.. L is for low impedance. for use straight after the guitar.

btw bro, google!

Googled it alreadi... just wanted to check of the FV50H can be used to control the volume of the guitar while playing... Coz there are the FV-500H also.... so wonder which is better.

but both performs the same function right? as in both can be used to control your volume while playing without having to use your vol knob?

if i understand correctly- when you roll off the volume on the guitar, you're lowering the output of the pickups, so stuff like your distortion will fade away? while if you use a volume pedal, this doesn't happen?

So, in that same theory, does it mean that if you put the vol pedal after your guitar but before your overdrive/distortion unit, it's like rolling off your guitar's vol and you can vary the amount of overdrive/distortion? :P

visa: not true bro. if you use a volume pedal before your distortion/overdrive, the very same thing will happen. that's why you have the low impedance vol pedals for use after effects, so that the intensity of your drive/distortion does not change. only the output volume does!
