Boss OS-2 against DS/SD-1 (moded)

Hi there,
I currently own an OS-2, and recently, i stumbled across this thread
http://soft.com.sg/2006/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=21492

Anyay, I'm now thinking of selling off my OS-2, and maybe get a DS-1 or SD-1, and then mod it. But I want to know how the OS-2 fares against the sound of the DS-1 or SD-1. Is there a gap in sound quality for the OS-2? I don't know, as I've never played a DS/SD-1.

So could anyone who has played all these pedals give an opinion? Would it be worth it?
OS-2 (versitality) -aganst- moded DS/SD-1.
I might be getting a small all-tube amp, the Valbee soon. Is it better to have a distortion or overdrive for tube amps?

Thanks alot!

EDIT:Is there a way to mod an OS-2, so that it sounds great both on OD and DIST?

when boosting an amp, use anything & everything that works for you. it's not a matter of one pedal being 'better' than the other. i'm using my TS9 Tubescreamer to boost my ValBee (pic). some days, i use my BOSS DS-1/ Blues Driver.

ot, but me thinks you should try the amp's own drive first before spending money on modding the ds-1/sd-1.

your not looking for a boost right?

subversion; erk! val..bee! thanks

mattleesc; Not really. I'll also be using the pedal for jamings where there'll be other amps (:
So I'm only practicing on my home amp. The pedal would be more for jamming/ gigs.

Which is why I'm asking about the quality of the OS-2, compared to the ds1 and sd1.

Is there a way to mod my OS-2, so that it sounds great on both overdrive and distortion?
Then I would't have to get a DS OR SD 1 (:
