Boss Acoustic Simulator alternatives?

Hi

Anyone know of any alternative 'acoustic simulator' pedals apart from the yellow Boss one pls?

Do you guys rate the AC-2 highly anyway?

i dont rate the ac2 as in highly, but it just does it job ok. It "simulate" a workable acoustic sound, but in no way sounding like real one. Work better with single coil than humbucker imho

other than the boss ac2/ac3, theres another from zoom. Its a multi efx with drum machine, A2. Its a acoustic geetar efx thou, but theres acoustic modelling patches in it. Cant remember how it sounds like coz its been a long time since i tried it with electric geetar. Only thing i remember now is the cheesy drum rhythm pattern in it to play along for indulgence.

Can I suggest installing a piezo pickup?

I absolutely love mine and would recommend it to anyone...

I thought the AC-2 would have been an interesting addition to my tones... after hearing how the guitarist (Victor something...) in Rage use it on the Soundchaser album - I thought it was nifty.

I didn't view it as providing anything authentic though. I expected emulation/simulation and I got it.

I sold off the pedal after a while.

Ha!

does make the electric sound like its peizo equipped. but nothing more really. nothing beats having an acoustic on hand instead.

in my opinion, AC-2 sounds horrible when you are playing through a guitar amp.
my suggestion is to play the AC-2 with an acoustic guitar amp. in this way you will get a more usable sound.
