i don't really use boosters nowadays, but i feel that the bad monkey used to serve as a good booster to me.

that's right- it depends.

if you think your current distortion needs more intensity/ saturation, employ a drive booster before it. same goes for your driven amp.

after employing many pedals in your set up & you feel there is a level suck, place a clean booster just before the amp (at the end of your FX chain) connection...

Hmm.

I have a "clean" boost (LPB-1) after my Guvnor 2, and a MXR Distortion + behind the Guvnor 2 set at minimal gain to add extra oomph... planning to get the Sahasrara OD soon to further my tone nirvana 8)

i think LPB 2ube deviates from LPB-1 quite a bit.

sorry- thought you were referring to the LPB-1...

anyway, the LPB in any of its manifestations are clean boosters. the LPB-2 might have higer gain capability to produce a drive. when you receive yours, don't be upset if it doesn't contain any drive inherently or the drive grade is a mild one...

A good booster requires high clean threshold coz if it stars to distort it doesn't boost no more ...just mush!!
