Boost - SD-1 or BD-2?

Thumbtacks

Hey all. I've got a OD-3 as my main drive, but I'm also looking for a volume and slight drive boost. I'm thinking of getting either the SD-1 and BD-2. Any ideas? Recommendations?

I don't use BD2 for boosting, but SD1 is ok for boosting. BD2 has more low end & dynamics than SD1.

just imho, if it sounds wrong, pardon me.

If you are satified with the od-3 as the main sound and just wanna pump the volume/gain higher, how bout a clean boost? Eg, mxr microamp, EH LPB-1 etc

The bd2 and and sd2 are another drive pedal and if use to boost another drive pedal, unless you are looking for that colouring of drive on drive or drive on distortion stacking thing, if not, a clean boost might be another possible consideration

Go for the clean boost option if you want more volume.

Gtr --> dirt pedal --> boost --> amp

mxr microamp is noisy.

it will make your blood boil!

ok in all seriousness, booster wise, i was thinking of the ac/rc booster? what say you all? If gots the moolah, go for beano boost. 8)

if you are happy with the OD-3, wish it has more kick, then employ a clean booster in your FX chain. here are some:

if you live by the single-coil tone, the Duncan Pickup Booster is recommended:

How about Xotic's RC Booster or Banzai's Rising Sun 2? I think those are pretty good boosts as well! RC may be a little more versatile cuz there a little eq control on it (highs and lows)... Whereas with Rising Sun 2, what you get is what you got!
