bigsby tremolo

No official ones in the local stores. I bought 2 tailpieces at sale from an overseas shop a while back, one for myself, and one more just so anybody who wants one can gain from the sale too. Still new, right out of the box, unused:

You'll find that they usually sell at about US$100 from those overseas dealers, i'm letting go for $120.

Them and guitar connection sells unofficial versions of the other model, the one with the big back end, more for archtops.

heh, other than the look is good, that twang bar there will always hinder the adjusment of the tone/volume knob actually.

To fit the tremolo aint a big problem(at least 2 holes need to be drill if using the longer type of tremolo instead of the horseshoe kinda). But to setup and intonate the instrument after that can be a hassle. I tried it on a epi g 400. And actually regret after doing so. But then, the look was quite nice and other than that, more cons than pros....

some things to change together with the bigsby for best performance are:

1) Bridge with roller saddles
2) Graphite nut (optional if you have a well cut nut)
3) Locking tuners.

Then you're good to wank away.

Ahaha that's a story to tell man.

I've got my old yamaha which has been my number one guitar for a long time. Recently I decided to put a fernandes sustainer into it. But it's got a circuit board and no place to fit. So I decided ok I'll block of the trem and put it in the trem cavity. Then I realised I still love a trem. And I thought, hey since I love the look of a bigsby, I'll kill 2 birds. The hard part is, the original trem was a floyd licenced. So i'm gonna have to figure out some way around. And the radius is wrong for the usual TOM bridges too. Which is why I need the schaller.

Ok enough talk. Here's the guitar with the hopeful bigsby lying on top of it.

She ain't that pretty, and she's beat up over 8 years, but I still love her :D

gahh, look at that sg above. is there anyway i can install the bigsby higher up to conceal the holes left by the stop tail bridge?

is there anywhere i can find a good tech to install the bigsby accurately for me?

I think there are many variations in installing the bigsby.

I'm not too sure about the measurements and stuff, as far as I know you can place the bigsby as far or as near to the bridge as you like, just not too near I guess, or the string angle would be horrible.
