Big problems

Hi there,
When I play my guitar, my amp begins to fuzz after a few mins - it is static taht has bult up. If i take the plug out, touch me or wood, and plug back in, its ok for a few seconds. I thought my amp was broken, so I brought to Mikemann, but it was fine. I noticed yetserday, after playing my guitar for a few hours, I touched my metal laptop. I felt current on the surface, through my fingers. not a shock, like an on going thing. I touched a piece of wood, and it stopped. if i press the screws on my guitar pick up selector, there is buzzing. I'm starting to think the guitar is not grounding static properly? If this is possible? I know nothing about electronics! It's really off putting playing clean guitar with a fuzz...what I wanted to ask was where should I take my guitar to get the electronics set up and checked....or any other ideas? thanks!

well i guess you cld ask for a ground check? i think e circuit isnt ground properly.. thus u expirience the 'current'.and are you using the 3pin plug instead of 2?it makes a diff!

just my 2cents

Ask for a ground check in the guitar? Also, should I be using a 3 pin? Or 2 pin? Im using he plug that cam with it..its a 3 pin, but the 'round' one....not the normal fat 3 pin one...

what amp are you using??

if the power cable can be unplugged and its same as the computer power cable then change to 3 pin

thats what i did to my amp

Did you have similar problems to me ? thing that is wierd is that the buzzing only comes after a while

i think buzz which comes afer a while has sumthing to do with charge building up... it maybe be ur reverb in-bulilt efx thats doing it... try playing with the reverb at zero and see if it still has the prob.

no i didnt expereince much except buzzing due to not grounded

I used to have this problem too, buzz from the amp, and gettin minor electric shocks from touching the metal surfaces of my guitar. Then I changed my amp 2 pin plug to 3 pin plug and the problem was solved. If ur amp plug is detachable, u can buy those 3 pin computer plug from challenger or any pc shops, thats wat i did.

8O Don't worry......until u start smell something burning

Could be a broken/faulty ground cable...in yur power chord...in yur flat.

Easy fix: try another power cable
Expensive fix: send yur rig to Pete Cornish
More Expensive fix: re-wire yur flat*
More Expensive fix: move to a new flat*

*HDB owners u get big discount
