Beware of repacked strings from Guitar Gallery Pte Ltd @ Parklane Shopping Mall!

Anyone bought strings from Guitar Gallery Pte Ltd at Parklane shopping mall before? I bought a set of elixir nanoweb strings from that shop and after using it once, I realised all the strings became rusty especially the plain steel strings. I checked the box and the paper envelops (where the strings were stored) inside and I realised it was repacked to the normal steel strings instead of the coated anti rust strings. I can't believe that the uncle who owns the shop cheated me off my 20 bucks (overpriced but I bought because I was rushing for time). Just a heads up to all guitarists who happen to buy from that shop in the future to check the strings and do not be fooled by the box.

Got scammed at Guitar Gallery Pte Ltd

I'm very sure i bought the coated anti-rust strings. But the inside envelops contains normal plain steel strings. No stamps.

Bring it back to ask them! :)

But do check if the box says Anti-Rust on them first. I did have packs of elixirs(nanoweb for acoustic) that I bought and store for a long time and the steel strings rusted... a problem when they are not sealed...

the newer batch of Elixirs would be coming with anti rust for the plain strings. IMO it's not really GG's fault, just Elixir.

Repacked strings on the other hand is another story. This one you settle between them and yourself. I really don't see a reason why a store would go through so much trouble just to cheat you of $20. I'm sure this is just a misunderstanding.

He said all the strings, not just the plain ones?
Then I believe it's not Elixir's fault.
The batch that came without anti-rust only affected the G B E steel strings.
My E A D are not affected.

So you intend to smear their reputation and threaten their livelihood just because you got a bad pack of strings? Wow talk about being a petty douchebag. FYI a pack of elixirs for 20 bucks is NOT overpriced.

Although I agree that a pack of Elixir for 20 bucks is the norm, but the rusty strings isn't.

I had such a case at Davis before but that was the Blue Steel strings. It was selling for 3 pack for $18 or something, a promotion. My last pack was rusty. The other 2 packs were okay. But that was months ago, thankfully had a spare pack of Ernie Ball in my bag somewhere.

TS:

did u try going back to the shop to ask for an explanation or a new pack since the pack you got was "faulty" ?

Sometimes its a manufacturing error and shops can hardly keep track. bring it back to the shop to have it changed. it's not nice to give such strong accusations on a business when not given a chance to resolve the problem.

:)
