Best Wood for a Bass

I wonder what is the best kind of wood to get a nice deep bass sound for a bass which isnt that heavy. Between Basswood, Ash and Alder which works out the best? :lol: I always wondered

deep bass + not so heavy = ash.

low, deep sound yet can be bright and snappy enough for slapping n popping (i almost typed pooping).

not as heavy as woods like mahogony or bubinga but heavier than alder and basswood.

I use Ash and very nice sounding but the pickups matter a lot. I use EMG actives therefore dunno which is the factor that creates the sound I guess many things but all I can say is EMG actives are very quiet. no hum whatsoever.
