I started using those Dunlop fin picks, the yellow one you see below and I kind of like it for the compromise in flexibility and stiffness. Nylon picks don't wear out on me but after some time, they become soft. Tortex picks are good for me as well as they don't slip.

Hmm.

I use metal picks for my humbucker guitar to brighten up the tone.. can get really biting and raucious tone out of them.

However I do use tortex 0.88s, the green type you see hanging up on the glass pane (where the pedals are kept) in ranking, fro my single-coil guitar... more because it gives me very nice control.

I like stubbies, but they're too thick I guess? Even the thinnest one i felt like I was holding a coin.

those green tortex ones are very durable.. pick slides and all.. I've done it and they have come off without the horrible notches.
