best guitar design?

SG cause it has horns and I'm a generally horny person.

Nono kidding! But still SG. Not as thick and sustain-y as an LP, nor as bright and shimmery like a Strat. Sweet in between sound. Plus the above reason.

liked a lp till i actually got down to try one, gave up trying anything above the 15th fret
now i like a strat...but...i want 24 frets :(

Personally i favour lespauls and i dont find the cut away a problem for high access frets as i have rather long fingers

That said, i have to admit that in terms of construction the stratocaster has the best construction and all. Everything is carefully thought out to build the optimum shape of guitar that many companies have been attempting to replicate these years

I believe whitestrat posted this before:

Read and understand why the strat is so awesome

My samick artist series 29 frets
Extra light weight body, lighter than the ibanez S series also

Fender Strat for me... (i own an S series though). The strat really is a revolutionary design everything from placing all the electronics to the pickguard, the location of the knobs, the contour to the cutaway.

Leo Fender was a genius to have thought of all that. Superstrats a fine but they are more like refinements/mods to the strat design.

I find that most guitars that I have tried feel quite comfortable. The most comfortable for me has to be an SG though. The least comfortable for me is a Telecaster. I hate palm muting on them. No complaints on it's sound though

lol obviously, it has 29 frets so definately longer

eh, 29 frets, ya lah, neck should be longer cause of the extra 5 frets (and thus the lack of a "neck" pickup), but if u're talking about scale length, it might still be the same as a fender 25.5"

erm my neck is not should be longer it is longer. Ya but the guitar is the same length as normal guitar, is not how many frets that determine the length of your guitar is the fret size. The distance frm the nut to the 12 fret and from 12 fret to saddle must be the same, so if you do you math properly u will know why.
