1) Unorthodox packaging. It was put in a Gibson electric guitar soft case, packed in bubble wrap, and then had another generic electric guitar case inserted from the top down. It had bubble wrap all over, and was put in this old, beat-up box that says "Gibson - The Gibson Family of Brands". And may I say that the box was really beat-up.
2) Many, many, many flaws with this guitar. Dings, scratches, as well as glue spilling out from some of the upper frets, and from the neck joint. One of the target knobs had the red bullseye missing, and there was a long scratch along the back of the body. Also, they didn't bother wiping the guitar clean before they sent it to me: It was dusty.
3) There was one painful crack at the bottom of the guitar, like it had been dropped very hardly. I suspect this could have been during the packaging as I do not doubt DHL's excellent service during shipping.
4) No official certificates, no form of authentification, just one Phillipe Dubrielle logo on the back of the headstock.
Felt bad for you bro. Yup, better take some photos and report to the relevant agent. For the price you are paying, you better receive some compensation..
