not sure if this thread should be posted here but yeah.

im new to acoustic guitar and im hoping to find some buddies to practice with, hangout with, blah blah, since none of my friends play the guitar. i fine with anyone who plays the guitar, better still females (more commone topic?)!

:D this sounds like a lame post. geeesh. LOL.

hahaha i wanna learn too but i am a complete newbie. 2 newbies together can't accomplish much. but i am a guy though, so you probably wouldn't want, it's ok. ^^

sorry to hijack the thread, anyone wanna teach a newbie like me? :D

well maybe we can gather a group, find a suitable quiet place and practice? though i suppose this has been done quite a number of times without much progress.

Hi

Hi there Ska here. I'm 25 male here, currently i am still studying, I been playing guitar for a year plus...I am willing to teach u guys guitar. But there is a catch, I am only able to teach at my nearby area(YISHUN) during one of the weekend. If you guys are keen we can set a date then we can meetup.

I'm willing to teach as well man. It's been a while since I've busted out my dad's acoustic guitar outta my storeroom.

I'll be watching this space for any more updates.

LOL! It would be great if we can have a fun time with this idea. Its kinda boring always playing guitar alone.

Thats why i need a band god damn it!

yeaaah this group doesnt have to be beginners only, right? some experienced ones can teach too. i am willing to teach, though i have yet to learn my third chord. haha. anyway, strictly acoustic? because i dont have an acoustic guitar at the moment haha.

im a newbie too!! , looking for friends whom wanna learn with.. im a male 19 year old just started out 3 months ago..

oh yeah just like to enquire about the difference for acoustic players , do you guys prefer strumming with pick and plucking single string at a time or finger strum/pluck?

I'm currently learning some basics from a school called hark music somewhere in town..
It's a 15 months course.

They teach us by finger plucking

Oh ya TS , your name sounds quite fermilliar hmm , you live in the east side?

LOL. i have no idea. im even more a beginner than you are. well, im thinking about going to a school to learn guitar but im all broke. :(

anyway, i would prefer strumming if i were to go acoustic. sounds better together with singing. :D

hey! im not restricting myself to girls only. im fine with guys too, just that i dont really know what to say!

well, two newbies cant accomplish much but hey, it's much more fun! :D

yeah! it's so boring practicing alone! LOL. but i guesss we have no choice. LOL! i wonder how long i will take to start playing songs. :(

newbie here too. currently learning hallelujah and tears in heaven.

nice songs to start learning!
as for chords, only learned the basic major and minor chords. Caged only...still a long way to go.

hey! maybe when im back from holi you can teach me! :D

Suuuure no problem. And by the way, I find strumming a much more fun technique in playing guitar, cuz I just love how notes sound like when played together.

But with finger picking, wow, you will definitely turn more heads. It is so beautiful to listen to, especially with those alternative and exotic-like chords. My ex-cell leader in church is a good finger picker and does wonders with the acoustic at times.

I'm not very good at learning acoustic songs as I've been playing mostly electric (regretted dropping acoustic earlier) which has like heavy riffing and soloing. But what I can show you are some of my aspects in playing acoustic like alternate chords and some strumming techniques.

You know something? This thread on the forum really prompts me to start something, like a S.O.F.T jam (I'm.....thinking of setting one up soon as well, watch me for any updates on that) but this time it will be something like an acoustic gathering if you like. Ooooh yeah I can see it now.

Guitar lau jiaos, it is also encouraged that you participate as well, as there are a growing number of guitarists here so it will be good if we can set them off on the right track.

Yup, will be watching the response from here. If it's good, I'll think of something.

Cheers everybody! ;)
