Bassist's Effects Line Up Part 2 (Include Pics of your pedal board)

i've been thinking of stacking the source audio. you can get some relatively warm tones by rolling back the drive knob, but i find that even its maximum may not be enough for my taste. furthermore, the source audio killed a lot of gas. i think i could put a really nice drive pedal in front or something.

Hi all,
after reading 163 pages of the previous thread started by exin, I decided to start a new one to refresh.

Here's my humble simple pedal board:

Pedals.jpg

Amp -> Source Audio Multiwave Bass Dist Pro -> Big Muff Pi -> tuner -> bass

And also powered by Sanyo Eneloop Pedal Juice which I read from fellow forumers: shinobi and alanchia were using. Great Stuff!

Incoming pedal BYOC chorus mod for bass.

Btw, the source audio pedal I use it more for synths and octave sound, and I have no idea why they name it a distortion pedal. It does have some fuzz effects but would prefer the big muff Pi or combi of 2 fuzz to get doubly fuzzly... :p

I use double fuzz to cut through my band if I want to drown my vocalists for fun, btw my band has 3 vocalists..lol

yoz fellow bassists, time to show off your bass pedal board pics and state what u like about each pedal.

i've been thinking about a good drive pedal to put in front of the multiwave distortion. and i think... the best option is probably ANOTHER multiwave distortion. the non-pro version is only USD119 and it gives you a shitload more options than anything in that price range.

Is the Multiwave Bass Distortion so great? I was very intrigued by the Pro (for guitar) but so far my experience with 3 Source Audio products (TriMod Wah, Phaser, and non-pro Distortion) was disappointing. The Distortion in particular produced very unpleasant harmonics and overtones on many settings. But the sheer number of options, nice EQ and presets still has me interested.

it's a very synthy sounding distortion, does fuzz well. i dont think you're really gonna get an tube overdrive kind of tone. the unpleasant overtones and harmonics are probably due to the larger bandwidth of the digital processor, especially for the guitar. on the bass however, where most pedals are struggling to preserve the lows, it does a great job. it doesn't do everything but it does a lot.

Hi all. I'm a bass player from the eighties. Haven't played in 15 years and no longer own a bass. I'm getting the hunger to play around the house. I'm thinking of buying a bass. Any suggestions for a good around the house electric bass. I used to play Rock.
Thanks people.

Yup, I agree with shinobi, it does well with the lows, including the B string, it also has 2 knobs for controlling the dry signal and the amount of effects/distortion which is awesome. I think the source audio engineers are bassists at heart, maybe that's y their pedals for bass sound awesome and their pedals for guitars are not as good.
Anyway, the bass distortion does well when you mix their synth sounds with other pedals, I combine a big muff fuzz with octaver effects from source audio pedal to get me a synth fuzz for muse hysteria.
I also use the pedal to play some church organ effect for wedding tunes. But you probably have to try to experiment with the diff effects to hear which effects suit the music u play. Whats more is the pro doubles as a equalizer.
I have tried digitech synth wah and boss syb-5 and I think there are certain limitations to these 2 pedals, but thats my 2 cents opinion.

Hey guys, i'm very interested in picking up the source audio envelope filter, any idea where i can get it locally ?

TYMusic had a few (like... 3?) Source Audio pedals on clearance for at least a few months. I believe only the phaser was left. You could try asking them.

I have never tried stacking 2 similar pedals before. If you really get another source audio pedal, let me how that works out for u.

If TYMC doesn't have, you may have to ship from USA, I got mine from 8th street music, think shinobi was recommending tonefactor.
USD rates still low so make full use of it.

Yeah, i'll probably pick mine up from tone factor. I was originally eyeing the groove regulator. However i prefer the versatility of the EF soundblox

if you're ordering from tonefactor i'd suggest you subscribe to their mailing list or follow them on twitter. they have storewide discounts rather often, should be able to offset shipping at least.

a tip: always order using the paypal form (even if paying via CC) instead of the secure webform. i tried the webform and it cocked up. it caused me to miss the promotion, but i emailed tonefactor and they gave me the discount out of goodwill. they also advised me to use paypal in the future.

bought 1 for myself and another for fellow softie he suppose to xfer the $$ but till now eh quiet. since i already pay for this, i need to sell it + reduce shipping , cost to shipped 1 or 2 pedals does not make a difference.
