seriously, if u are asking for commercial rates, $200 is one of the cheapest u can find in the market. i can refer you to some of my friends if you are interested. but definitely their charges won't be $200 per shot of cos.

thanks lurgee and superkicky! haven't been here the last week. was busy with exams.

i think lurgee has put it quite clearly. $200 bucks per photo. basically how i work is that i'll shoot til you are happy with the images. u get to choose the images from what i've shot, and pay accordingly. not happy, just reshoot again. just for $200, that's a pretty cheap rate.

however, i'm still looking for bands to shoot. and yeah, i'm still looking for bands. selected bands will get the photos for non-commercial use for free of cos! they can use the pics for their promo or what. so why not drop me a PM or what.

i agree with you that band pics should at least show who the band is.

it'll be a series of photos, not just one. so rest assure, u'll know who the band is in a series.

i'm also welcomed to any outrageous ideas/proposal you guys will have.

So, Is it free one.....meaning you take the pictures (you own the rights to the Photograph) ...and Band Members get copies of their Photos in Digital Format...

Bro, you ask for Bands here and that you would love to take pictures of Band and add them to your Portfolio - - - didn't know that you are here on a commercial basis (in a way).

But that's ok (I'm perfectly fine with that).




Since Bands here at Soft become some sort of your Models in a way ... Why not take their pictures (you do it free) and in return trade for CD (you give the Band Members FOC some free copies of pictures you've taken and here you own the right to the Pics you've taken )..... a Win-Win situation here......instead of charging them.

If they pay you (say you charge S$200) they own the right and you've no right to put it into your Portfolio without permission and approval from the Bands? ...... But I strongly believe that you would want to add these pictures to your Portfolio (that's what I perceived according to your post).

Remember you put up this thread and you did not specify it clearly in your initial post that you are charging a fee for it from the start?.

Even if you did - Is this proposal acceptable? ... Isn't this also an acceptable practice for some Photographers at ClubSnap .?

Here The Bands are quite akin to Models Available at ClubSnap. The only difference here is - You (The Photographer is asking for Bands so you could take their pictures) and not the other way round (at ClubSnap where Models put up their Portfolio and Charges Photographer for a Fee) ..... and thus who pay who ? is still very much a Controversial Issues there .... (It depends).

Thus Option is available.

yeah i think TFCD shoots will defenitley generate more response than paid ones as there are many young bands here wanting to promote themselves but without the financial means to do so.

It's both way. ... and all too justifiable too.
