Band Competition Of The Year 2008

kenneth. you made empty promises to me again. i called you a million times. why the hell didn't you pick up?!

lol bro, i don't know how to say this but... if i were you, i'll forgo the $30. it's obvious this is a scam. okay... maybe not a scam. perhaps they organizers didn't want this to happen either but they shouldn't be running away and leaving you guys hanging. either way, just forgo it. it's not worth it.

Yea i know its shitty.30 buck is equivalent to 2 hrs of jammin,5 Extra Value Meals @ macdonalds,2 large stingrays at any seafood restaurant.hmmm...maybe im just hungry...go find ya 30 bucks dood!!!!all the best....hehehe

well maybe they want to leave it hanging but i don't. i want an explanation and/or an apology. i know freemansland isn't at fault.
the least this guy kenneth can do is answer my calls!

I think all you can do is to give it a rest for a couple of days you know. And then call with a different number or something. Hopefully they have a perfect and sane reason for whatever's happening.

bro freemansland, he just said he know's your company ISN'T at fault. chill man.

Jason nothing to do with this also la.
Anyway hearing from some of the friends involved in the Barcode and those who had past experiences from Melissa's gigs, honestly, just let it go. Her events has always worked like that and just ask anyone who has peformed for her before and ask them how it turned out.

then you'll know and at least be able to comfort yourself that youre no the only one.

hmm. i think that theres a lesson to be learnt here, albeit at a price of $30.

i'm not saying that we should mistrust all gig organisers, but i believe that bands should protect themselves before committing to anything. a quick google or ask-around would do. especially when there's $$ involved. and when it involves payment, ask for a receipt, or a contract. verbal agreement carries absolutely no weight.

another thing is that, i feel that we must make sure that stuff like this doesn't happen again. spread the word, warn your friends, we bands gotta stick together man.

regarding this issue, if there has been a contract signed by both parties, i believe that we may have a case here. we don't have to engage a lawyer to sue. i believe that a police report would do. from what i see here, the organiser is not honouring her agreement, and defaulting with the registration fee. even if there's no contract, i think evidence from this forum would suffice (of course it'll be better if bands that paid were issued a receipt).

well this was what Melissa had planned to do from the start ( thats what I heard from one of her friends ) &I really didnt expect her to pull it off.
Soo, not all organisers are like that.
Just learn from this and grow from it k? {:
i wish you guys best of luck.

yes not all organisers are like that. dun worry bands, i m going to her house NOW to get back all my contracts and money. HAHAHA.

seems a bit suspect about 30 ticket selling.

However it does reinforce an argument put forward about paying to play made ages ago- it works. Guess the prizes are directly funded from the ticket sales. However, is there a limit to the number of bands participating? One can foresee line-up time issues + change over woes.

Umm.. I doubt there'll be a competition anymore. And I believe paying to play doesnt really work unless the event is highly known, which in turns, brings other opportunities.
