On 30th april i was thursday, i went all the way to Zen guitar shop just to buy lace pickups.. but when i reached there the shop was still light up and there was a guy inside having his meal... but the door was locked... i made a signal to him that im buying something from the shop.. but to the guy reaction .. he was saying it was closed... then another 10 mins i went back to the shop again .. but this time the guy was at the door going out from the shop .. i had a conversation with him .. but still he refused to let me in to buy the products that i want ... instead .. he gave me the online maestro name card... damn it!!! .. how can a dealer treat his customer this way!!! .. damn it!!

Not to be rude or anything, but sometimes we,as customers must understand the situations that our people or the latter mentioned above are in. I work in the service industry, so i guess i learnt over the years that dealers have their own problems, and maybe they can't do anything to help you. By refusing, or not helping you get what they want, they might be saving themselves from a whole lot of trouble. they too, are humans, they need their rest and they don't want any extra burden laid on their shoulders, during maybe once their shop closes? Alot of work needs to be done if we need to open up sales again for the day, once we've closed it.

this is only IMHO, my 2 cents. never meant to be rude to the poster.

yea. we as customers must spare a thought for the seller, and we as sellers, must spare a thought for the customers.

if u ask me the fella seems to be really closing the shop. wouldnt have done that if he's gonna open again right. what time did u go there?

Hi KeeZ,

I'm the guy who gave you the card. I appologise for all the inconvinience and wrong move of not opening up the shop to let you in to view the pickups.

Our operating hour is 1200-1930hrs. Having said that, it's no problem for me to extend all the way till 2000hrs or more if i have nothing on personally and that customer is already in the shop making his final decisions. I personally have stayed till later then 2000hrs just to allow my customer to purchase his guitar.

But that particular day, it was already 1930hrs. I was finishing my dinner and was about to rush off after that. I normally won't close the shop earlier just to allow myself to leave the place at dead 1930hrs. The 10mins you claim is most probably the time for me to pack up and leave the shop and i'm pretty sure it's past my closing time. If i don't have anything on, i'll be glad to speak to you more about the lace pickup but i happen to have some personal appointment and was running late. That is the reason why i appologised to you at the door of Zen Guitarwerkz and went in to take a card to direct you to our 24hrs online store or our website.

I hope you'll understand and agree that this is all a misunderstanding.

Vincent

it's a fair account of what took place, it's not an excuse.

the customer is right when he's right, when he's wrong, he's wrong.

Thread starter said he wanted to buy the pickups, not browse and ask questions about it. Sounds like a lost sale to me either way.

Closing time means closing time what.. The shop has absolutely no obligations to listen to a customer..
Imagine closing time, customer A enters on the dot..
Browse browse and spend time there..
When he leaves, with or without buying, customer B enters..
If you refuse him entry, he'd argue that A's past the closing time too..
Then customer C enters after customer B.. Etc etc..

If customers expect dealers to make the effort and wait for them, dealers should expect customers to make an effort to come early..

try putting yourself in the salesperson's shoes
state wat are u gonna do in the same situation happens
spare a thought lar
as the saying goes
u gain some u lose some
there is always tomorrow
cheers:):)

it happened to me also. I arrived during the closing hour at sweelee. Well, i can't argue with the shopkeepers. They have their own working hours. simple.

Hmm.

As mentioned many times above, I will concur that as much as we the customer wishes to make a purchase, no matter how short and snappy the process will be on our side, the sales staff need to do other things like closing the cash register etc... and this does not apply just in guitar stores... it's the same everywhere.

I've worked in a pub before and the same guideline applies: We're closed, and we're sorry. Clear-cut and simple. If you really want the lace pickups, why not just come another day, obviously at your own convenience but within the store's opening times?

Mr Vincent has already apologised, maybe the threadstarter could come forth to accept or refuse the apology? Either that, or I'm sure we'll be very glad to see what other remarks he has to state.

i think we should give vincent a break.

of all my experiences with vincent, there wasn't 1 that was unpleasant. that said, i went during operation hours.

for the record, i think vincent is the most pleasant sales assistant of all the shops i've been to. and given his situation, its no fault of his at all.

sales guys need a life too, period

Also, I must say Vincent is rude to delete my posting yesterday for no good reason.

How can someone posting be deleted just because he was trying to make a point clear!

Please stop sounding like a Jack***. This is our forum space but we do not moderate the forums. None of us in Maestro have the access to moderate this forum. If the customer is always right, you would have rectified the complaint on your ebay store. Your post here got deleted because the moderators know you are HYZ. Simple as that.

It's amazing how jealousy and insecurity can push someone to such measures. I suggest you go for counseling it'll help you from indiscriminately pressing the 'submit' button.

please check if Vincent indeed deleted your post. if he did not, an apology is due.

on matters of perspectives & opinions, what you deem to be 'making a point clear' may not be so to others. if you come back to reiterate your point, you could be having issues with certain parties/ individuals; a personal dialogue (PM the party concerned) would be more fitting.

one thing is for sure, i definitely did NOT delete anyone's post here.

Hi Thoa,

No Jack and Keez are not the same person. Keez is a random customer while Jack is actually a guitar dealer selling stuff here and on ebay. He used to come in with his moniker HYZ and he has grand plans for world domination. But before he does that, he is hell bent on slandering and flaming us at every opportunity he gets.

Just look at this link, Jack has posted this same ad under at least 3 different pseudonyms. Like I said, he is someone who either needs counseling or should spend time on running his own business. He's like a terrorist who thinks, 'I can't get a piece of that so I'll take you down with me'.

Customer is always right.... they only deserve what they deserve....

Vincent should stop giving all the excuses of not serving the customer

The customer came after closing hours; it is no longer his obligation to serve the customer..
And for your info, the customer is NEVER always right.. A lot of people keep saying that.. You can never abuse the line just because you're a customer.. Try switching positions..
Best of all, try working in the service industry.. You'd wanna bash up the people who rudely abuse that line, including yourself..

I think if one decides to work in a service industry, he/she will have to expect such kind of "unexpected" demand from the customer.

When I used to work in China, I remember the same point was brought up by MM Goh, who notice the hair salon in China will normally open right up to 11 pm if they are customers keep coming in. However, in Singapore the hair salon will normally close their door at 7-8 pm despite customers keep coming in.

That's how you call "hard working".... in Singapore, most people still like to work within their comfort zone.

Then better go and work 9-5 in an office environment.
