Bands are bound to sound different after their first albums. It'll be mundane if a band has 10 albums and all 10 albums sounds similar. Put yourself in the shoes of these bands. Metallica definitely sounds different in St. Anger from their earlier albums yes no?
I agree A7X sounds better before City Of Evil (I gave away the cd without completing the album) but at a point of time bands would want to make something different. And you just can't hate a band for wanting to try something different. And don't forget M.Shadows had vocal chord damage leading to surgery and doctors advised him against singing. But he still did...

do notice that styles of these bands change after they enter MTV, like a7x, honestly i used to like themduring their old albums, i still remembered 7 pound vein covering their song 'reminissions' n i really like that song, but not animore, coz of that new style of songs that they play..
n if u say that it's the most dumbfcuk reason why i hate these bands, then what actually happened to the passion..? iron maiden doesn't need MTV but they're still popular aren't they? and they even criticised MTV for the wrongbringing of metal.. so yeah, basically just bringing my point across.. if u guys can't take it, den go ahead dissing, i dun mind

if a7x lacked the passion, the band would have split up after Matt hurt his voice. It is his passion for singing, the band's passion of playing music that led them to this stage. Being on MTV doest mean that they suck, dont tell me that Iron Maiden havent been on MTV before. &, Matt has said he doesnt really like MTV as well and reckoned that bat country was too poppy. Liking an 'mtv band' doesnt mean you're a poseur or whatever crap. Tbh, only the first 5 fans of a band are considered true blue fans. The rest are all wannabes [ as said by Papa Gates. ] which i find is true to a certain extent.

Nirvana was on MTV and they are fine rockstars. MTV is definitely not equivalent to selling out.
If Avenged Sevenfold does whatever we want, that is stick to the metalcore style and never move on, it would be difficult 1) to gain new fans, 2) to sound different from the suddenly very popular metalcore scene, to sound unique to appeal to everyone.
Though indeed Waking the Fallen and Sounding the 7th Trumpet are the better albums they did compared to City of Evil, it has been years, and it has come to the point that they want to do what they really want now.
People mature through the years, people change the way they think. They used to be young kids who think screaming is cool and all, but now they've changed. A lil' poppish, yeah, but at least still in the range of rock.
Pantera, Metallica (before St. Anger the notoriously bad album), Marilyn Manson and Iron Maiden have all proven that screaming is not necessary to produce good heavy metal. A7X still has the melodies going, still has the kickass element, still has the quality. Less like what you guys say :roll: , "brutal", but still good music.
In the words of Pantera, if you don't like it, you can either respect or walk on home boy. :twisted:
Anyway after all that ranting,
:?: : When are the tickets coming up? It's only a month and 4 more days to go! Even Black Sabbath/Dio (Heaven and Hell) concert has started sales of tickets!

ah,typical dissing of bands..haha..
city of evil definitely is good in terms of the technical guitar works and intricate lines,melodys and all.The solos there are wicked.maybe not as crazy as mark tremonti and all but still..its really good stuff of city of evil
