rx7, you can state yours of course, just like how others can state that what you stated is being immature.
Anyway I didn't read the rest of the thread so I don't know and can't judge whatever.
On a general note, I always find genre purists to be a damn funny.
Not just metalheads I mean.
It's entertaining and amusing to see how they cling onto a particular genre of music so tightly and are immediately offended (sometimes breaking into spasms similar to running a durian across the crotch area) by any other forms of music. Everything else is a sellout except what they believe to be 'true'. Most of them are probably socially left out of the loop so they feel a need to be part of a tight niche; a community of purists that stand for something. But if you asked them, what does being a purist actually mean? Most of them will grunt "band XXXX is a sellout, band YYYY is pure _______". you can proceed to ask them what does pure ______ really mean, and they'll grunt "You won't know cause you listen to sellout music"
in the end it's a lot of circling around retardedness. Music is music, good or bad. If it entertains you, if it sounds great, then it should be worth listening to. If we wanted a steadfast rule for it, we should all go to the church, mosque, or temple and pray to the Gods of all Pure Metal, Rock, Disco and Trance. Anybody whose brain doesn't have the intellectual capacity to welcome new ideas and musical approaches just really needs to loosen up and play more XBOX360 or PS3.
