AVATAR The Movie

I just saw the movie Avatar. It was pretty good. The story, plot and animation was believable.the concept of movie I like so much.I seen lots of movie in which the people from other planets attacks on the earth and we save our earth.but I seen the first movie in which we are attacking on some other planets for money or other issue.I like the people who fought for the truth against their own people. I cant say its a must see except if you don't see it at a movie theater, the home theater wont give it proper justice. I would even recommend seeing it on the IMax screen.

I personally believe the movie didn't live up to its hype. No doubt, the visual FX were face-melting but the script was somewhat disappointing. I mean, for a movie that was 10 years in the making, I just expected more.

However, with that being said, I recommend watching the movie in IMAX 3D but be prepared to cope with the massive headache afterwards :)

Yeah the special effects are amazing but the plot is just Dances with Wolves with a science friction twist. So I guess you can say that this movie is somewhat a ripoff like how other guitar manufacturing company rippoff designs from Gibson (e.g. Les Pual)

with the 3D specs - anything is posible

i agree with anirudh.. the story was kinda predictable.. OH and did anyone grt a headache watching it in 3D or was in only me :O

Totally agree with Anirudh, perhaps i had high expectations of the movie which subsequently led to my disappointment. Story was too predictable(i was actually half hoping for a tragic ending). The effects however were top notch and i recommend any of those who have not watched it yet to check it out

the visuals were stunning!! people should watch it if you haven't! and i recommend watching it in 3D. ;] the falling flowers and plants in 3D made me wanna reach out and touch them. :D
but visuals aside, the plot was so-so.

I thought the WHOLE movie would be very 3D. It was less than I thought. And the story is similar to Pocahontas.

I thought I was watching Pocahontas in 3d. Terrible movie.

And don't bother replying me if you're an avatard. The "spiritual/political/social/feacal undercurrents" were half-baked and distastefully done. I've seen childrens' books with better allegories.

The effects were really good, but give any damn idiot a computer and 15 years and he'd probably have done no worse.

A waste of 3 hours. Don't bother. I'd rather sit through my math lectures. The plot is about as engaging, the 3d effects far superior, and I don't have to pay 10 bucks for that.

Just watched it today at Shaw House, 3D.

I loved it. The effects were killer, plot was pretty predictable, but it's a movie that really makes me emotional (like the part where the home tree got destroyed).

Oh yeah I got a headache after wearing the 3D glasses too. Awesomeeee~

Awesome movie! I love love love it. I would watch it again if I have the extra 2 and a half hours lol

No. 1 grossing movie of all time : Titanic.

That was more than ten years ago?

Then BAM James Cameron comes up with his next movie (no movies in between Titanic and Avatar), and it's looking like Avatar is gonna take the #2 spot in movie grossing after Titanic. Dood must be rich.

And for those of you who don't already know, Cameron is a prick. Guess all the money went to his head and inflated his ego.

James Cameron is great, but I was never a fan of Titanic, and I doubt I'll like Avatar either. My favourite films from him would probably be T2 and Aliens

Shucks....I paid $14.

Seriously, I think Sherlock Holmes was more entertaining.

The story, while predictable, is still decent. The only thing that makes it above decent are the visuals. The sales are only good because of the 3D, it's not worth pirating it. There're probably going to be so many more movies made this way. Maybe one of em would have a unique story too..

I liked it. A movie is meant to be entertaining. If you want it to be philosophical, go read a book!

Definitely a masterpiece. Having partaken in small films before, and studied the art of film-making, I find that I've become more receptive of films rather than more critical. It's a hard-ass movie to make with an imaginative world, but a somewhat linear storyline. Toruk Makto ftw!
