everyone is naturally biased, it's quite the rarity to get a neutral or objective view
everyone of us are inclined to some varying degree of favoritism/fanaticism be it mild or rabid.

of course there's obviously nothing wrong with voicing your opinion, it's just a matter of context. shoving one's ideals into one's throat is not something i would adhere to..

mallcore is music that is played in the mall, hence the term "mall"-core.

it can include various genres like nu-metal, metalcore and gothic wannabes. bands in such genres include linkin park, limp bizkit, system of a down, slipknot, cradle of filth (their later stuff), dimmu borgir (their latest stuff also), trivium, bullet for my valentine, etc.

though im not saying that all of such music are bad, cos i am also guilty of listening to such music from time to time. eg dimmu borgir's latest cd is just plain genius haha. and trivium's cover of MoP blows.

Awesome news! Especially for someone like me who enjoys Melodic Death Metal... They are the pioneers, and i guess, without them, there's no Zonaria, Norther, Dark Tranquility, Kalmah, Skyfire, Eternal Tears of Sorrow...

agree with panzer, really hope that it is just not a mere reunion. i personally feel nothing comes close to at the gates in terms of song writing..

sub: i think "good" is subjective. it is extremely difficult to please everyone. what is good to you may not be good to another. unless, of course, by saying "everyone" you mean "every fan of the genre/band".

but i agree with you about these opinions being non-representative, since they are not a fan of a certain band or the band's music style but rather follow the flow. if one person hates the band for appealing to the mainstream, the rest follows. which is imo a dumb thing to do.

i like trivium and bfmv from time to time, looking forward to bfmv's new album though.
but i would prefer naglfar, slayer, behemoth or nile anytime.......... oh ya, i totally agree with your view of dimmu's new album
