After Steve Perry left Journey the band had been looking for a replacement for the front man of their group Journey... Neal Schon goes through a handful of hopeful but found this guy Arnel Pineda a Philippino singer for the coverband ZOO in a Manila local pub via video post of him doing cover song of great band like Journey in Manila on Youtube... Neal Schon hook up with him for an audition which Arnel thought was a hoax at first...

After that the rest become history as he become the new frontman of Journey... the things is some die hard Journey fan says he can never replace Steve Perry

actually i still prefer steve too. Still find his vocal more powerful and clear

Does race really matters in a band? Age? can anyone see a 40 yrs old guitarist or singer in a band makeup of member in their early 20s and not make a comment? Are we digging music or worshipping idols? Does your guitar hero have to be in shinning armour? Does your inspiration to become a singer define from the look of the singer you draw your inspiration from?

Do we appreciate talent or are we chasing superfacial satisfaction? Is the western music scene becoming more like Taiwan where package is the selling point and not talent?

Yeah I don't understand what are u talking about. I only know Journey chose Arnel as the singer because he has the vocal range as what Steve Perry has and also covers their songs pretty well.
