I promised not to be one, i tried not to be one but i always have the urge to get another dirty one.

Why like that ar?

I know...i know...It's singlish but It's monday, c'mon.

P.S : Looking at the EHX Germanium 4 Big Muff Pi, has anyone tried it? :p

I admit, I'm a dirt whore. I'm not a person who plays with modulation (cos I don't know how to musically!!!), so I like getting a variety of dirt pedals for different stuff =)

i think i'm threading ur path...

Because dirt pedals have a ton of variety? Because we want more than just the sound of things but we want the right feel? Because we can't play as well so might as well buy? Because we can play so well we need more? Because there's better out there?

Hahaha...

I can think of a million reasons, good and bad, why we all troop down the dirt track.

That said, I got the EHX Germ4 Muff and it is stellar. Very inspiring. Whatever the reviews say about it's tone - generally true. It's not a real muff though so don't expect the typical muff tone. 150 bucks or something, right? Can't go wrong. This is one of the best non-boutique/production pedals I've purchased and I don't see any need/want to mod.

Bought it last week, very nice pedal. The bias knobs are unique but couldn't gel well with the volts knobby though. Germ 4 OD into a C.bread DLS + bridge pickup is ownage IMO.

Hi Guys, I'd like to second the question. Is the Germanium 4 Big Muff really really good? Everyone was raving about it some time back.

I think really good depends on individual, for me I feel blackstar ht blackfire is really good

It also depends on whether you're comparing apples to oranges...

A Germ4 Big Muff is a ... Fuzz. It uses transistors. It runs on 9v. It's 150 bucks.

The Blackfire is... well, it's not a fuzz. It has tubes. It runs on 16v. It's like what... 300?

That said, I like your answer. It's as vague as the question it answered.

I'm still in a fix. Anyone of you guys still using digital effects (Line6, Digitech etc.) together with hardwired ones? I'm hesitating to venture into the Axe-FX arena. =( Anybody has a take on this?

Seems like everyone's going digital for convenience.
