Apple launches the new iPad

Isn't the iPod a pimped out MP3 Player, the iPhone.... well, just a phone with a hell lot of apps? Isn't a MacBook or a MacBook Pro just a laptop? I'm not anti apple, neither am i a apple fanboy, but i think that Apple hit a jackpot with creating the iPod Touch and the iPhone with great marketing strategy so that many apps are available....

bla bla bla yada yada yada...

Technology - http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/technology

Invention - http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/invention

Apple has filed more than 200 patent applications related to the technology behind the iPhone.

The revolution doesn't refer to inventions of devices, obviously. Even Stevie Wonder can see that. It's about the revolution of processes and technology (engineering, both hardware and software).

lol apply fan bois and gers, apple sent me an advert, it says the ipad is a revolutionary product..

i want to know, how does a gigantic ipod = a revolutionary product? a test of brand name vs human stupidity?

an ipod that doesn't fit into ur pocket, i can foresee that it's gonna be a hot seller cause steve jobs is god

Boiboi, if you are thinking of a career change - I suggest you forget about being a comedian or a tech writer.

Steve Jobs is an idiot if he markets his products explicitly as 'revolutionary'. That's akin to morbidly stupid self-proclamation of superiority. Obviously, Apple does not have to resort to that kind of thing, and has not, to sell its products.

A netbook cannot fit into your pocket too, but hey - the iPad's not trying to be a netbook (which a lot of dumbos think it should be). It's another appliance altogether, some feel. And this is from end-users who have actually bought the iPad and thus reviewed it.

For me, it's as simple as this, whatever the rabid Apple haters say.

The iPhone has been around for more than 3 years but every other day - I see somebody's shoutout in Facebook "Succumbed to the temptation - join the iPhone cult today. Loving it!". After three years and more and more people are still into it leh.

And in case you've been living in a well for some time, every other new phone design attempts to emulate the iPhone. How's that for 'revolutionary'?

:twisted::twisted::twisted:

And I just don't understand why people think the iPad is just an oversized iPod Touch.

Yes, the technology and application is similar but in the end, how you use it, in terms of a whole new set of possibilities that comes with a much bigger screen, is the one that matters.

Doing certain things on the iPhone is not practical but is perfect for the iPad, due to obvious size difference.

Really, I don't get it why people can't see the possibilities and plus points but seem to be stuck in their claustrophobic comfort zone and little worlds.

But hey, that's why they don't work in wildly successful tech companies, or invest millions in technology that will enhance lives.

:twisted::twisted::twisted:

I can totally see the use of the iPad, but it's really something plainly for entertainment, I feel. Imagine you're at a Starbucks relaxing, would you rather use a netbook over an iPad, which you can just lay back and play around with like a clipboard. I'd definitely get it, as I can see myself using it a lot but as of now it's more of the money issue.

Hmm another zealous apple fan boi.. Or maybe not.. Are you implying that I'm outright lying in my previous post? Or are you implying that Steve Jobs is an idiot? Quite puzzled by your words or wisdom there..

Omigosh, Apple does market iPad as 'revolutionary'. My bad.

That shows how much of a 'rabid fanboy' I am.

But I do stick to my stand that I find it utterly stupid that rabid Apple haters think the iPad is just 'a gigantic iPod'.

It's just like a frying pan and a wok. They both have the same function but you wouldn't be able to fry rice for the whole family on a frying pan.

So, I REALLY do not understand why it is so difficult to see such an obvious and elementary thing.

I wish I do.

I am not anti-Windows too. In fact, I have a PC which I use primarily for gaming and an iMac that I use pretty much for everything else.

I just don't understand why some people are over-zealous in their criticism of such a wonderful class of products that excels in both form and function in areas it decides to excel in, without trying to do, or be everything.

I am really utterly curious why some people are like so.

i think it is still too early to judge the ipad's potential.

just look at this:
iElectribe_img1.jpg

what's next?
Kaoss on ipad?
a drag and drop pedalboard?
a better multi-track?
percussion trigger pad?
Jordan Rudess to use ipad as keyboard, or midi controller?
and these are just on music.
the ipad's application is almost limitless.

iphone & ipod are useful in their portable physical dimensions.
ipad's dimension will mean something else.

so, let's wait and see. :)

I guess IPad will have their new generations coming soon. :) Just like Iphones 2g 3g 3gs. Cant wait to see new IPAD generations out. So that the first IPAD will be sold at lesser price. :)

I don't hate apple.. I just find people who have "Apple" or "Steve Jobs" in their Religion field hilarious. They rave about and praise Apple products before it's released and before it's proven it's worth.

I mean if they're feeling generous and wanna donate to Steve some money (though he's most probably about a few hundred to thousand times richer) by all means. But giving steve money and advertising for him.. Now, that's a real solid marketing strategy by their god..

How it all started: a rectangular piece of metal with a rectangular screen and 2 circles, 1 within another, at the bottom of it. Stylish would be the last thing I'll call it but i don't know why every single review in the market said it was the most stylish mp3 player at that time. And everybody believed.

Yes, you look young in the flesh but I don't know exactly how old you are.

What does buying a product for your own use, benefit and entertainment have to do with 'giving someone money or donating to them'? People buy because they need or want it. Advertising is just a way to create awareness and desire for a product. It's basic economies.

You wouldn't call it stylish but who are you to say that others need to think like you and cannot find it 'stylish'?

People don't have to believe. Not everybody is stupid.

It is their money, it is their choice.

Nobody gives a rat's ass whether others find it not stylish or whatshit.

Tsk tsk...

And you calling Steve Job's Apple fanboys' 'god', doesn't mean that indeed these fanboys and fangirls indeed treat Steve Jobs as 'god'.

It's the same type of pathetic argument most racist retards use.

Like all Malays and Muslims (or people with beards for that matter) are terrorists, all Indians talk and smell funny, and all Chinese people are greedy, murderous bastards.

Get it?

Hmm, sorry but I don't recall saying people must think like me.. I'm implying they shouldn't believe every review they read blindly and at least use some brain power to judge. No point asking you what you think anyway, since the answer would be obvious.

Again, I don't know if you're supporting my point or not. Not everybody is stupid so.. ..some people are not stupid, while the rest are.. *scratches head* I didn't say people who believed the reviews blindly were stupid, but you implied it right there.

Do some research before doing a verbal diarrhoea because it stinks. There are people who actually buy and use the ipod because it is a fashion statement. If you're right, then these people are "nobody"? Hmm, I'm tempted to agree..

Interesting way to start a reply.. Do you happen to eat children for breakfast? If so, then sorry, you'll be a little disappointed to find out that breakfast is not served.

I don't see the point of continuing due to the glaringly obvious lack of intellect on your part to carry on debating and arguing effectively.

Have a nice day.
