that's the original stompin' ground e.p. there is hafiz (vox), syed (bass), ayong (drums) and suhaimi (guitars). they played hardcore modelled after nyhc (new york city hardcore) ie gorrila biscuits, youth of today, instead, burn, quicksand. and their onstage presence can't be matched by anyone then. just look at the pics! they opened for rollins band, and twice for fugazi.

they were one of the few of very good local bands in the late 80's/early 90's along with nunsex, original global chaos, birdbrain, opp party and a few others. those days, punks, hardcore, grindcore can all party together in one gig! we mosh, pogo, slamdance, whatever u want to call it, together. no fights, nothing!

just wondering if anyone remembered them.

Stompin Ground!!!!!! and i had their Measured by the Richter Scale album and someone borrowed it and never gave it back.
their cover of Minor Threat's "Betray" is mindblowing!
Syed's LCHC days before he formed Bushmen.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T!!

and Opposition Party kicks serious HC ass too by the way.been a while since i saw em too.

and yes..those days..moshing had that One Love thingy goin on. pogopogopogopogopogopogopogo :D

well back to the topic...

yes that's the gig we got to go...how many times do you get to see real hardcore/punk/grind bands play. ANy of you guys remembered Acid9? Man, dunno what happened to the rest.

yeah! Acid9! the 3piece punk band. the last time i saw them was when they performed in the skate comp way back in 2000, i guess.

I can top up everyone, I still have the 1st SG demo "Grey" in cassette format. This was when they were still playing RHCP funk in their repertoire and still kicking ass!

yeah! yeah! yeah! i have that long time ago! i got that from ah-boy at TNT. $5 i paid for that. but it went mouldy and got lost like 10yrs ago! yes, they wanted to be rhcp then. with syed slapping flea syle and all that. they always covered jimi's fire live then, just like mothersmilk man! chances of me borrowing it??? hehhhhhhh...

I still have THE Original Lion City Hardcore CD...

Stomping's intro tune was awesome. A perfect fit for the compilation.
