Anyone had past experiences with T1m?

Hi guys,

Let me explain my situation:
I ordered a Overdrive from Dan Burgess over at T1m, whom most of you would know due to his success with custom builds and buffers. The order was placed in September, along with payment. He said that it would take a month. From his website, it did indeed state a month to 6 weeks, so I agreed to his terms.

However a month passed and there was no news from him. Perturbed, I contacted him asking why? He said that there would be more Pearls (the name of the overdrive) being made, and he would work on it. Again, I waited for his package to appear in the mail. Another month passed, still nothing.

10th week, I shot him a couple of email. No response.
12th week, I shot him another email (yesterday) and one on facebook (today). No response so far.

Anyone else has had problems with This1smyne? And what can I do to rectify this problem?
Additionally, I'm going to leave Singapore in 2 weeks time to do long term humanitarian work.
Anything to ease my doubts or to make Dan understand my pains would be good.

Please help me guys!

Dan is a busy person.

I've ordered my Zvex SHO clone from him custom made and he did promptly reply to my emails though yes there was an extremely long hiatus/period of time he went 'MIA' and did not reply me. He did apologise for that though.

Probably a hold up there, hes very involved with church stuff plus its the christmas season hes probably too busy making orders and all. Hes a great guy. I've spoken to him and trust me he isnt he type to go AWOL with your cash. Give him a while more.

:) All the best.

There was a thread on TGP about another guys situation pretty much similar to yours. You might want to do a search for it.

It's really scary man. It feels like he has run away with my money, creating an elaborate scheme to create new orders but never completing them. Wonder why he doesn't do the once ready, make payment kind of thing. What if after such a long period of time, you have no need of what you ordered in the first place?

@Tyzjames: the TS got suspended, and the people who spoke up for him got banned. Yes, I read TGP, but never bother to post, due to the fear of being banned for saying anything. It's worse than our country's already strict laws on speech.

Yeah, or take payment only when the pedal is ready to be built. If I remember correctly, in the post he stated that he will adopt this scheme after the big hoo-haa on TGP. Hope you get it resolved soon!

Well according to his Facebook it seems like he was travelling for the past 2 weeks.

I would drop him one more email, explaining fully your situation and how he can contact you. And hope he gets to your email in time. If not, things get more complicated but I trust he will resolve it, not run away with anyone's money.

Honestly, I've had no unresolved problems with Dan.

You got to take into consideration he isnt doing pedals full time at the moment and even if he is, hes entitled to enjoy the festive season away from his work. He has a family man the dude just got married cut him some slack. I understand as a buyer you're anxious to obtain your requested item. But do spare a thought for the dude. Hes probably getting wacked without even knowing it. Trust me hes not one to run away with the moolah.

I guess no matter what his circumstance, pretty much anyone would get irritated if he keeps breaking promises after promises. It seems that there are many others whom he has promised to 'ship their pedals out in the next few days' but they haven't received anything even after a month. I personally have not dealt with him but all this bad rep makes me glad I didn't:S Hope he gets his act together soon.
