Anybody with experience in Vintage Tuners?

In particular, how do I tighten these tuners? Is it to do with the holes in the centre?

Many thanks in advance.

Klusons? I think you can't. I've used these tuners for a while, but I've never thought about tightening it, and it certainly doesn't look like it can be done.

And that hole? Shredcow is right. It's for lube.

Hmm all right. I just fixed up my friend's strat (fixed a pot) and was thinking of tightening them.I'll just leave the tuners alone then.

If they're klusons, trust me. they get plenty tight when the lube runs dry... heheh... But the string tension should give it some resistance, no?

I'm actually not sure if they're Klusons, they look very much the same to me.

And unfortunately I don't have the Allen Key for the Floyd Rose to string up (I have like 10+ keys and none of them fit... urgh).

Don't think it's a major issue. I just want to do a thorough job of cleaning up and keeping the guitar in tip-top condition. My Fender's tuners are the ones with tightening screws and I make sure they have the even tension so that the tuners turn nice and smooth without being loose.

You just made me realise, that I have NO strats which have adjustable tuners. All my strats are either on Klusons, or one of them on the american "F" tuners. Damn... I need an American standard... (I sold off the deluxe which has locking sperzels anyways...)

I think the tension should tighten up nicely with strings anyways...
