Had one on my Parker Nitefly which I sold sometime back. Its brighter than nickel. But not by a huge margin. Very smooth to do bends, feels similar to jumbo but in a much nicer way. It also goes through your string faster than nickel frets. Also you will never need to polish your frets. :smt001

I've done a bit of research online... many have talked about how much brighter it sounds, and of that, many say it sounds more brittle. However, I have done an A/B comparison so yeah...

However, I do know that if you ask a reputable lutheir like Malcom to do steel frets, you'll have to pay him extra because he will ruin his tools in the process. Its very hard, so it does last longer BUT the risk of damage to your instrument/tools while refretting is greater. Then you can't just hammer the steel frets in, you got to glue them down ala Parker Flys.
