Hey All,
I'm currently looking for headphones used for practice at night.
The story goes like this,
I've been playing till 10pm everyday at volume 2.5 for my HT-5 and my neighbour still knocks at my window -.-
So currently, I'm looking for headphones to COMPROMISE.
Budget would be anything under 200.
I play metal music basically if thats any concern.

Thanks!:)

I can understand your feelings about your window being knocked.
Hmm, Headphones huh.. I use ATH-ES7 cos it gives clarity. But that is definitely above $200.
Maybe you can consider Marshall Minor? Since it incorporates classic features from that Marshall Amps, maybe it might be good for playing guitar. I've seen someone selling on soft 2-3 days ago.

+1 to Marshalls! I use them too! But I recommend the MARSHALL MAJOR HEADPHONES. the Minor would be an In-ear Earphones. Personally i feel the Major has more to offer. Plus, the Looks can't be compromised. the Minor looks ugly to me.... HAHAHAH

I researched on the same issue. My conclusion was Grado headphones. I got SR80, SR125 and RS-1, quite good. SR80 around 180 dollars new not bad too. But they are opened headphones, need to note. These are basically audiophile headphones. Grado is known for the crystal clear, and emphasize on the bright treble, while bass and low mids can be less impactful. For guitar, imo is quite suitable. Can go stereo electronics at plaza sing or sunplaza (I think) for no obligation good service and testing. ATH M-50 is another good choice too.

Hehe. i suggested minor because major costs more than his budget. =P

Plaza Sing and Woodlands Causeway Shopping Centre

and BTW!
If you decide on Marshal Major, Buy from HMV. $159.90 instead of having to pay $199 at all other Earphone shops.....
Still strongly recommend Marshall!!!

O.O I seem to be so outdated. I'd always thought major to be over 200. Thx for correcting me XD

Hey Thanks for pointing that out.
Almost got it at $199!!!
Thank goodness u pointed it out! Will go check it out! Thanks

Thanks for all your inputs! Appreciate it all. Looks like Marshall Major is highly recommended ya? Will head down to HMV and check it out:)

Passed by HMV on saturday at citylink and apparently it's under renovations.
Correct me if i'm wrong.

I would stay away from the Marshalls, they are at best "decent". U can get better headphones for the same money with other REAL headphone manufacturers, eg. Audio Technica. Go test them out at Jaben (Adelphi) or Stereo Electronics (Causeway Point).

I personally use my BeyerDynamic DT770 pro. Very responsive low end, dynamic mids and the highs are clear and not too harsh. Great for rock and metal sounds.

i just use either some cheap philips headphones, or my razer m100 :P

was looking at the marshall minor, but its just earbuds, if it was IEM i would probably consider it.
would still be curious to check out the minors, anyone knows the cheapest place to get them and how much?
